Publisher's summary

Charlotte Griffolino knows a rake when she sees one - and the man her niece longs to marry most definitely qualifies. Stuart Drake is handsome, charming - and penniless. That he is interested in more than Susan's considerable inheritance is highly unlikely. That he will be immune to Charlotte's allure is even more unlikely...

With a Viscount title in his future, Stuart expects it shouldn't be difficult to marry an heiress. Still, once he meets Charlotte, how hard will it be to charm her? Quite, actually. Now Stuart has only one option: to take revenge on her through seduction. But learning what this woman needs might only leave him hungry for more...

Worst Narrator Ever!!!

If your looking for a perfectly good story ruined by a breathy, whispery, hard to hear and understand narrator, then go ahead and listen to this book. For all the rest, I recommend you just read the book, the story is pretty fun.

Captured my attention from beginning to end

I’ve listened to over 100 stories, and this is definitely one of my favorites with the various twist, turns and unpredictability most of the time. when you thought you knew where the story was going, and figured it was predictable like most other stories …. but like driving Bumper Cars…. Out of no where…. the story went into a different direction! so for me, the overall story was great the performance is great, and the story was great!!👍🏽

Horrible sexy whisper narrator

I love Caroline Linden, but I could only listen to two chapters with this narrator. Her cadence is very strange. Worse than the cadence is this horrible whisper hissing that she does in an attempt to sound seductive. It is incredibly distracting.

The narrator was so throaty and breathy while narrating that it distracted from the great story. The story was great 5 stars.

annoyingly overdramatized narration

It seems not the best of Caroline Linden novels or maybe inarration made it almost unbearable.

Great story, but

It is ruined by the horrible narration. If you are bothered by the word back being pronounced as “bock,” and many other mispronunciations, I don’t recommend, as the word back is said dozens of times. The story is great and, to me, was unpredictable, its saving grace.

Great story

Have mercy! The narrator butchered the story with the most dreadful dramatic whiny voice imaginable. At some point I was trying to put a finger on how miserable she sounded. Still cannot compare it but it did get comical.

Poor Narration

I really didn't like the breathy prolonged end to every sentence. I've tried listening to this book several times but the narration is difficult to listen to. Her accents and differentiation between characters is good, but the breathy, soft end to every sentence is very irritating.
