love love love

I'm so glad these are finally available on audiobook format!!! I just love this series and the Bardic series. Valdemar series is great too...and The Elemental Master. ok...really I thu Mercedes Lackey is in my too 3 favorite authors, so I relish most of her books! Thanks for your hard work! I do hope this means we get Bedlam Bard series in audio format soon!!! Narrator nailed it too!

Cults bad, elves good

Better writing than the first book in the series, though any troops attacking the army of Peter the Hermit in the 11th century would have been Greek (or "Roman"), not Turkish. The opposition is pretty cartoonish, but cults were the bogeyman of the early '90s, so that's not too much of a surprise. The Sidhe protagonist here is more interesting and better drawn than that in the first book.

Not stellar, but not terrible.

The narration, while better than that in the first book, is still weak. The "Scottish" accent is poor and the narration lacks energy and emotion. And Keighvan is still pronounced "Kegvan", which is risible. I already own two more books in this series read by Wiggins. I will not buy another.
