What You See

In an ancient cemetery, travel writer Jade MacGregor’s tour of a Scottish tomb is marred by a terrifying attack that leaves her surrounded by corpses drained of blood. A year later, back home on a shadowy French Quarter street, she glimpses the oddly compelling stranger she met that day. Coincidence - or is it something far more disturbing?

Could Kill You

Surrounded by her friends and engrossed in her work, Jade should feel secure. But then new bodies start showing up, and somebody is dogging her every move. Somebody who knows what she saw on that long ago afternoon among the gravestones and mausoleums. Somebody who will try to rescue her from the undead waiting to make her one of them.

Heather Graham always delivers

I enjoyed this book almost as much as the first. Good balance of romance and suspense. I recommend it.

Truly a great READ!!!!

What did you love best about When Darkness Falls?

This is actually a very good book. It's number two in the series but when I first read it, I just picked it up to try a new author (by the way, you find it on shelves wriiten by Ms. Graham's alter ego, Shannon Drake). This book is what sparked my interest in the entire series. Around book 4, my likability wanes a bit but I still couldn't fathom removing them from my book collection. When Darkness Falls is a well written story that will make you laugh, cheer and wish for a man (or vampire) to love you so completely. It follows Lucien's story after Underneath the Blood Red Moon and takes you through his history. I loved Jade. She was a little frustrating at times but what woman isn't? It's one of our greatest gifts to drive men crazy! I think Jade and Lucien had wonderful chemistry and it continues throughout the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of When Darkness Falls?

The beginning, when all the mayhem starts off. If I had been in that crypt, I would haved peed my pants!!! It's also where/how the main characters meet.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Tanya Eby is not the best narrator. In my opinion, her interpretation of the characters leaves much to be desired. Thus,I would recommend actually reading the book. The book took me on a fantastic journey and Tanya Eby actually made me long for my book. She's okay but she wouldn't have been my choice. I hope she doesn't return for the next novel.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I have no idea...

Any additional comments?

Read the book first and fall in love with the written portrait of Lucien and Jade's story first. The narration of this book truly lacks the spark I felt when I first read the novel. I've reread it 3 times since then. This is a fantastic book (again, its released by the alter ego of HG, Shannon Drake) and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to romance and fantasy/vampire genre fans.

Disappointing

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. I really like Heather Graham books, but this one just went on & on. The characters except for Lucien were uninteresting, shallow & numerous. The most interesting part of the book was Lucien's history.

Has When Darkness Falls turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I will even more Heather Graham books, this one was just a clunker.

What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Nice narration

Did When Darkness Falls inspire you to do anything?

Great Vampire story!

I loved the story. It was unique yet very true to what a real vampire-lover wants. I enjoyed the characters and could imagine everything as it was told. Would make a great movie.

Just Didn't Feel It!

The premise of the story was very good and interesting. The cast of characters was unique with their stories intertwined with the main characters. However, the main characters had no chemistry between them. To me their relationship was forced, it had potential but it was never given any heat, or hot passion between them. I liked the vampire part of the story but the romance was severely lacking and very lackluster.

SORRY A VAMPIRE DISAPPOINTMENT

HG is a renowned author so I thought I was pretty safe downloading this book - however, I am sorry to say it just wasn't the sort of meaty Vampire book I personally like.

It was very very low on any passion, sex, or romance and the plot just seemed to go on and on although it was quite involved, probably well written and was very 'wordy' but they just weren't many words that gets my heart pounding or pulse racing. I soon became disinterested in the characters and I really don't think listening to book 1 first would have helped any either.

Worth a credit? This just wasn't for me so sadly it's a NO and I wouldn't download any further books in the series - but hey maybe it may appeal to others.

Vampire/romance genre fans, I recommend a No Buy

It start of great but then dies a slow death and aside from Jade the characters were not very well developed, the plot was kind of weak and predictable.

If your looking for romance It was nonexistant, sex yes, romance no. Jade and Lucian hardly have any spark between them, but used every opportunity to hit the sheets.

There are way too many minor characters floating around, along with lose ends.

I really wanted to like this book. I tried hard but I couldn't get involved because It just does not grab you as a good story or well developed characters should.

The narrator tries against all odds to breath life in this book but the material lets her down.

This book was originally released under Shannon Drake, a pseudonym used by Heather Graham Pozzessere

One expects much better of Heather Graham

For vampire/romance genre fans, I would recommend giving this one a pass.

This is also a disappointment after the first book in the series
