About this listen

What a girl wants...

Miss Viola Darling always gets what she wants. Always. And what she wants more than anything is to marry James Kilbrenner, the earl of Tannenbrook. She's fallen hard for the giant, taciturn, surly brute, and she positively will have no other. The problem? He's not interested. Not even a little. But Viola cannot afford to lose. And she has her heart set on James. If only he will bend to a bit of persuasion.

...is an earl like no other...

James Kilbrenner knows how determined the entirely too beautiful Miss Darling can be - the daft woman cornered him at a perfectly respectable dinner and mangled his cravat before he could escape. He has no desire to marry, less desire to be pursued, and will certainly not kiss her kissable lips until they are both breathless, no matter how tempted he may be.

...and only the right one will do....

Thrown in her path by a meddling marchioness, James finds himself under sensual siege from a tiny, flirtatious sprite who puts both his heart and his vow to remain unwed at risk. And when scandal looms, he learns the hard way that a man can resist only so long before the indomitable Miss Darling gets her way.

Contains mature themes.

Cute book! He a rough and tough bear of a man (delicious) and she a determined little thing. I was not convinced at first but I truly enjoyed their story.

Very sweet!

This is a great story. I really like the in's and out's of the characters in each other's story because you get to find out how their stories start and continue from book to book. I have enjoyed each and every book in this series. Viola is a rare beauty and petite in size, while James is such a giant of a man it makes you wonder how are they going to fit. It is the lovely Viola who turns out to be time enough for the big man James, in spite if their mix match sizes. It was a lot of fun finding out how they made it work, and turned out to be perfect for each other.

Ms. Braden knocks it out of the park again.

Loved this book in the series. Great characters and entertaining story. Narration was spot on. Just spicy enough. On to the next one in this delightful series.

Excellent Diversion

The character of James is so honestly appealing, his character heartwarming and sensual. The Scot is sexy!

James ❤️

The character developments are outstanding. No matter how beautiful Violet is she remains true to her love for Jamie Tannenbrook. Violet fell in love when she first heard of Lord Tannenbrook long before she met him.
Violet navigated a lot of roadblocks to become Jamie's wife. But that was just the beginning. Because Jamie had some issues he needed to work out.
Very, very good book! The narration was top notch too!

I enjoyed the story. Love, the characters. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that man had beauty inside and I’m sure out. Loved how she helped him work out his issues. A feel good book loved it.

Enjoyable

I read this series out of order and this is one of the last that I read. I didn’t expect to like Viola much: a drop dead gorgeous woman who gets exactly what she wants. Wow. Shocker. Right!?!? Well actually I kinda liked Viola, she was very nice if a bit overly obsessive of James. James being such a cinnamon roll of a guy naturally attracted her admiration and, dare I say it? Obsession. However the way “Viola getting exactly what she wanted” was handled was so brilliant, the epitome of be careful what you wish for! I really was glad that she had that moment of realizing how selfish she was in her pursuit (like maybe the guy really isn’t that in to you?). And of course he WAS in to her but he also had his reasons for avoiding her and putting her off. He always did the honorable thing and so when she traps him in to marriage they marry and she later believes he is in love with an old flame. I didn’t really understand the whole “I don’t want a baby” arc though, I though James came around when he envisions a bunch of baby Violas but I guess he changed his mind back and forth on that a time or two. ANYWAY. In spite of some issues here in there this was surprisingly a great read, I liked a lot about it but mostly that James got an HEA, he had a hard time of it but wasn’t a cruel seducer or drunk, just a good guy trying to make the best of his lot and getting his nice little HEA!

Liked this more than I expected to!

From start to finish, this book is thoroughly riveting! The story is nicely entwined with the delicious characters and evolves unpredictably to an ending that we all desire: love and happiness!

WOW! Just…….WOW!

I love James character, but the way the heroin just got her way is not unrealistic. There was no great work on her part. All of a sudden James just loved her, she was perfect in an u unrealistic way and while I love Happy end most of these story have no real fight in them especially when it comes to the women. It's always the men who are in the wrong and whenever a situation arise in where the heroin does something wrong it's quickly glossed over and easily resolved. Again unrealistic!!! Even for fictional characters

Sigh
