My name is Alexis, Lexie to most everyone. And I'm a Necromancer.
It's not as much fun as it sounds, but that's not the problem this time. I haven't seen anyone but Miles in the last month since New Orleans. Talking on the phone? Yeah. Well, except for Zeke. A few text messages was all I've gotten. Until now.
We're going on the guys' yearly climbing and camping trip. With all of our secrets out, the tension between everyone is high. Everyone is pissed at each other, and I'm just trying to keep my head above water.
But it's time for a decision. Who am I going to be with? Will I end up with anyone? Will our family stay together?

I love The Veil Diaries. I love everything about it; Lexie, each of the guys, Rory, Maria. I'm always afraid that I'm going to be disappointed after building such anticipation. There has been no letdown. The attention to detail is superb. It's never rushed, yet it's also never static. It's a natural progression. These relationships feel as real to me as relationships in my own life. They are being built block by block. These relationships are the main focus of the book. It's a very personal book. It's emotional, painful. frustrating. It's a book of doubt, second-guessing, accusations, and angst. At best it's a struggle, at worst an outright fight. But this weight proves the significance of their attachments. They aren't willing to lose one another. They are creating something precious and strong.
I loved the multiple POVs. Loved the revelations. Loved the Veil. Loved the initial outcome (although I know there are still rough patches ahead). Loved the overall story. Love the emotional impact I felt. More than anything, however, I love Lexie, Miles, Asher, Ethan, Isaac, and Zeke. I love them Individually, as friends, and as a group. I love their character growth, their strengths, their weaknesses, their love. I love, love, love this author and this series!
I now hear Lexy as Elizabeth Hart. She has grown into this role nicely and I can't imagine any other voice. I haven't become as fond of Nelson Hobbs but in most cases, he no longer stands out as "wrong" for some of the boys. Hopefully, we will get to a good place during the next book. Maybe as the boys all age, he will seem like a better fit.
I love this series so much
