About this listen

The romantic escapades of the irrepressible Wylder sisters continue in Isabella Bradford’s fun, charming, and breathtakingly passionate series - as the wildest of the Wylders turns an arranged marriage into a game of desire to tame a wayward duke.

Notorious for her free-spirited antics, Lady Elizabeth Wylder revels in attention - but not the sort that leaves her humiliated when her future husband, the Duke of Hawkesworth, fails to appear for their much-anticipated first introduction.

So when a chance encounter leads to a sizzling kiss with a dangerously handsome stranger, she nearly succumbs. The shock of finally meeting her betrothed only to come face to face with her rakish would-be seducer inspires fury - and fans the flames of a fire that both Lizzie and the Duke acknowledge is a most agreeable way to start a marriage. In her husband’s arms, Lizzie knows she has found love. But is the passion that accompanies endless nights of erotic discovery enough to persuade a duke whose scandalous lineage and lifestyle prevent him from giving his heart completely?

Was okay, but not enough groveling

Would you try another book from Isabella Bradford and/or Romy Nordlinger?

Yes, but there better be more groveling.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

More groveling!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Romy Nordlinger?

Only if he can grovel better.

Do you think When the Duchess Said Yes needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Only if the hero wants to try and grovel better.

Any additional comments?

When men behave badly and they want to be forgiven, then they need to grovel. Oh and did I mention that they need to grovel better?

Wonderful and beautifully narrated

I don’t want this series to end! It's surprisingly funny, engaging, sassy and sexy. The narrator Romy Nordlinger was particularly good and I was in awe of how well she did covering all the accents and characters. The only bad part of this book was when it ended!

Accents were terrible

The story was good but the narrator was terrible. When she was trying to do an English accent, she would slip into a southern accent. She kept pronouncing “mama” like she was doing an Elvis impression. Clearly did not know to emphasize second syllable with English accent.

WELL ..... I WISHED I'D HAVE SAID NO

This unfortunately was one of my mistakes - ok I know I know but we all make them - I hadn't heard of the author before but liked the sound of the Publisher's Summary so took a chance but sadly this one didn't pay off.

99% of the book was pretty much boring and I hear you ask "well why listen?" sadly the truth of it is I'm an optimist and always think surely it's gonna get better - however this never did. Everything was perfect, lovely, handsome, beautiful, wonderful and they were wed within 3 weeks of meeting, couldn't keep their hands off each other (sorry, non descriptive) oh everything was just thrilling - until the last 2 chapters when he decided things should change.

I disliked the narrator but I guess the usual historical top voices passed on this one and I don't blame them.

Worth a credit? Well, if you buy it then save yourselves time listen to the first few chapters then just skip to the last 2 and you wouldn't have missed much - so it's a NO from me.
