As if the cold wasn’t enough...

Fleeing an approaching blizzard, a military train carrying prisoners and a handful of citizens derails in the mountains. The survivors fight to stay alive and regroup as the terrible storm buries them in snow. I read the book on my kindle and really liked it, and thought it would be a good listen for a road trip with my husband. I was SO WRONG. This narrator should be banned. The delivery was dry, he had terrible diction and gave strange emphasis on various words. For example, be prepared to hear “theens” and “thanes” interchangeably instead of “things”. It’s like they found some dude off the street and offered him a job without listening to a sample of him reading. Do yourself a favor and don’t get the Audible version. The kindle version is much better and won’t make you hate the stranger reading the book out loud.

Great story, but the narrator made for a rough slog. I would rather have read it myself, which defeats the purpose of this app.
