About this listen

Some wounds take time to heal . . . and some scars never fade. Rachel Morgan, kick-ass witch and bounty hunter, has taken her fair share of hits, and has broken lines she swore she would never cross.

But when her lover was murdered, it left a deeper wound than Rachel ever imagined, and now she won't rest until his death is solved . . . and avenged. Whatever the cost.

Yet the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when a new predator moves to the apex of the Inderlander food chain, Rachel's past comes back to haunt her. Literally.

Good Book..and original narrator back...Yippeee

I'm really enjoying the series. It's interesting and I just love the characters. :-) I am SO GLAD they brought back Marguerite to narrate. The pronunciations and character voices you've come to love are there again. :-)

I loved it

In book 7 Marguerite Gavin is back as narrator, and I am so much happier for it.  Not that Gigi Bermingham did a horrible job in book 6, it was just I listened to 5 books and got used to Gain’s narration.  To have it abruptly changed was like trying to settle into a new actor playing a lead roll on television series.  Think Becky in Roseanne, then imagine that switch being done to all of the characters.  My mind has trouble processing that much change.

In White Witch, Black Curse, Rachel is once again neck deep in trouble that it is going to take all of her skills, her friends and heap ton of luck to find her way out of it.  But I think that’s what endears her to my heart.  She doesn’t give up and has a heart as pure as gold.

I am giving this story 5 Boundless Stars, because what else would I give it.

great installment

So happy Marguerite Gavin back to voicing this book. This installment of this series is all good. We get a fresh mystery and the answer to Krists death. l am always happy when we move characters to grow in there series. So dull when a series just goes over and over same ground and characters get stuck in a rut.

The witch, the vampire, the drama...

If you could sum up White Witch, Black Curse in three words, what would they be?

Fast paced action.

What other book might you compare White Witch, Black Curse to and why?

This is a nice addition to The Hollows, not my favorite; but this is the first one I listened to in the series.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time I listened Marguerite Gavin, and she's great! Looking forward to listening more from her.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I hadn't realized how much I missed Rachel and Ivy, until I started this book. The witch, the vampire, the drama, and the never ending sexual tension between them. Action packed and, to keep in character, bad guys out of the league of Rachel, but somehow she manages to survive, and come on top, even if with some scratches. And this is the first book I read while working out, and driving. So, it gets extra credit for that.

Exciting, I felt like I was there as an observer

I can hardly wait for the next one.I didn't start reading the first one, but the author writes the books in such a way, that you don't need to read the prior ones, to follow the story. But, I did immediately purchase the others and completed them very heartily. I have enjoyed them all.

Love, Love, Love these books

If you could sum up White Witch, Black Curse in three words, what would they be?

Fun. Riveting. Entertaining.

What was one of the most memorable moments of White Witch, Black Curse?

They are all memorable and enjoyable. A lot of action, a little bit of romance and intrigue and a cast of characters that are perfectly imperfect.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't think I can pick a single scene. The entire book kept me coming back for more, excited to see what kind of hi jinks the cast of characters would get up to next.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud.

Any additional comments?

Love Kim Harrison and Marguerite Gavin. Great duo!

A series worth listening to!

I liked this book a lot! It is very entertaining and I love the characters. A vampire, a witch, and a fairy living together never gets old. That's the equivilent of having a muslim, a catholic, and an atheist living together. This latest book left you with some questions, but it did tie up some plot lines. As a result, I can't wait till the next one.

Good story, decent narration

I've never seen it written but I think it's pronounced Cor-mell(e) and not Cor-mul. Sounds weird when the second syllable is short instead of long.

Arts voice was terrible cheesy.

Otherwise—great work all around.
