Publisher's summary

Nine out of 10 churches in America are either declining or growing slower than the communities in which they are located. Stated simply, 90 percent of American churches are losing ground in their communities. Change is not an option; it is an urgent need. We don't change our doctrines and biblical foundations, but we do change our methodologies and approaches for this rapidly changing culture.

Based on the studies, consultations, and research of over 50,000 churches, best-selling author Thom S. Rainer shares how effective change has taken place in many churches. While it is not a formulaic approach, Who Moved My Pulpit? is a clear guide for church leaders who are not satisfied with the status quo and who yearn for their churches and ministries to make a kingdom difference. True transformational change in the church is possible.

great for understanding how to help older churches

good leadership strategies for a hard situation. dealing with long term members who prevent change is imperative to the ability of the church to be relevant to younger generations

A good resource in the topic.

Definitely glad I got to listen to this. I believe it is broad enough to give every pastor some guidance. For me, it left me wishing for more details on some of the info. However, it is not meant to be a detailed treatment of the subject of change in the church.

Thought Provoking

Change and management of change has long been embraced by the secular world. The principles are the same, goals are different, but process is the same. Thank you for making me remember the basic concepts and remember why we are engaged with our faith, our church and our mission…tell the world.
