About this listen

Whether it’s monkey business, funny business, or getting down to business, Janet Evanovich’s Lizzy and Diesel series proves that there’s no business like Wicked Business....

Lizzy Tucker’s once normal life as a pastry chef in Salem, Massachusetts, turns upside down as she battles both sinister forces and an inconvenient attraction to her unnaturally talented but off-limits partner, Diesel.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his 20-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust.

Following clues contained in a cryptic 19th-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences. On their way they’ll leave behind a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and general mayhem.

Diesel’s black sheep cousin, Gerwulf Grimoire, also wants the Stone. His motives are far from pure, and what he plans on doing with the treasure, no one knows... but Lizzy Tucker fears she’s in his crosshairs. Never far and always watching, Grimoire has a growing, vested interest in the cupcake-baker-turned-finder-of-lost-things - as does another dangerous and dark opponent in the hunt, a devotee of lawlessness and chaos known only as Anarchy.

Treasures will be sought, and the power of lust will be unmistakable as Lizzy and Diesel attempt to stay ahead of Anarchy, Grimoire, and his medieval minion, Hatchet, in this ancient game of twisted riddles and high-stakes hide-and-seek.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I had read the 1st one and was excited to get the 2nd one. The audible version sucked me in and had me laughing out loud. The author really can weave a fun, fast-paced story.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Really, you know it's all going to work out in the end, but it keeps you on your toes thinking, "Wow, what next!"

Which scene was your favorite?

Gosh, I couldn't name just one. It's a fun read though. Hmmmm.....The dare to sleep naked, maybe Glow's spells on Hatchett, Anarchy with fire. Nope, can't pick just one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but I did take just a couple of days and listened to the book on my travels.

Any additional comments?

What did you love best about Wicked Business?

This is a fun-filled delightful story with many laughs. It's light reading with a quirky main character "Lizzy" and of course a handsome and sexy Diesel to keep her safe from harm. What I loved best is the humor in the story. I didn't want to listen to anything heavy and this proved to be exactly what I was looking for.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

All that and more and I hope there will be another in this series soon!

Which scene was your favorite?

I have to admit when Lizzy's friend "Glo" was trying to concoct a spell to help Hatchett get more of a back bone against Gerwulf Grimoire and as she's just learning magic from a book mixed up her spell from "float" to "bloat" leaving Hatchet with a terrible case of smelly farts was totally burst out loud funny!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to the book at different times and enjoyed it a lot.

Any additional comments?

Lorelei King never disappoints when it comes to an excellent narrator and Janet Evanovich stories are always good in my opinion.

Wickedly Funny!

The book is a fun listen. Lots of crazy action and the descriptions are easy to visualize. Even a few outright belly laughs. Nice crazy normal charactors.

I really like the way she creates charactors by voice and inflection.
