About this listen

The fifth in the saga of the Provincetown Tales. The winds of fortune are fickle guides…and happiness or heartbreak may be the destination. For Provincetown local Deo Camara, the only winds that have ever blown her way have been cold and lonely, and she doesn't expect things to improve when she is drawn into a family crisis against her will. Despite a decade of estrangement, however, Deo can't turn her back on the call of blood, no matter how high the price in heartache.

Dr. Bonita Burgoyne is pleased with the changes she's made in her life…she has a rewarding new job and is looking forward to renovating the historic sea captain's house she has just purchased. She's content, and that's all she needs to be, or so she thinks until she hires Deo to head up the renovations. They have nothing in common except a shared legacy of betrayal by those they'd trusted the most, and an impossible attraction they would both prefer to ignore.

Meanwhile, Bonita's new associate Dr. Tory King and her partner, Reese Conlon, must cero with the aftermath of the winds of war and the approaching fury of a very real gathering storm.

I’m ready to pack up and move to this fictional land of lesbians, close knit small town life, and unapologetic female sexuality.
I will miss these characters when I finish the series. I may just have to start back at the beginning to spend a bit more time with them.

I’m hooked

What did you love best about Winds of Fortune?

As she continues the P-town series we get to know Tory and Reese better and Now she throws Tory's new partner Nina and Deo to fill out the residence of P-Town. Bree, Carolina and Ashley are along for the ride, So what's not to love. Even Sheriff Parker has a big bit of drama in this book. There is very little not to love about it. It is a Payton Place for lesbian with much nicer people.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I always love Tory and Reese best in the P-Town stories even though most of the book is about Nina and Deo, I still love Tory and Reese and am glad she is back from the war though I know the scars will stay with Reese for a long time.

Have you listened to any of Nicol Zanzarella’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She has done all the P-town Book so far and they are all great, her voice really brings all the characters to life. I like the way she does the different voices and accents. Her reading really are the best,

If you could take any character from Winds of Fortune out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I think I would take Ashley she seems so nice and near seems to end up with a girlfriend just friends who are girls. And she sounds like she would be fun, kind caring and interesting Besides every one else is in a couple.

Any additional comments?

I think Radclyffe and her P-town tells are just awesome as is everything she writes. I am glad to see you have recorded book 6 and another of her books. As well as starting to record her Justice series. Along with her Honor series all of which are awesome books.

Radclyffe delieves a super novel in the P-Town

This book was really good much like the other 4 before . it had strong leading characters, it was full of excitement and kept you wanting more.
This book can be listened by itself like the other four, it does well to explain who everyone is. I suggest getting them all.

Would you consider the audio edition of Winds of Fortune to be better than the print version?

Yes, I'm a fan of Nicol Zarnzarella

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dr. Bonita Burgoyne. I love her back story and the fact that out of all the Radclyffe books that I've read, Nita is the only woman of color that was featured as one of the main characters.

What does Nicol Zanzarella bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotions she puts behind the words.

Who was the most memorable character of Winds of Fortune and why?

Bonita Burgoyne for the same reasons that she's my favorite character.

Any additional comments?

In this version of the Provincetown saga, the violence comes not from human nature, but mother nature. The romance or should I say sexual attraction between Nita and Dao was nothing short than smoking hot. As always, the story was captivating and the supporting cast was as good as ever. Reese and Tori's love is still going strong as well as Bri and Carre. Allie is still the hottest cop in Provincetown. I'm so looking forward to finishing the series. As before, highly recommend.
