About this listen

For more than a century, Winged Hussars has been the richest of Earth's mercenary companies, as well as the only one to specialize in space warfare. Led by Alexis Cromwell, they have carved out a reputation in the galaxy for being dependable, unflappable, and lethally efficient. Until people began shooting at them everywhere they went.

Rick Culper left Earth in the hopes of finding a job as a merc. A natural at fighting in the armed suits known as CASPers, he finally caught on with one of the premier Four Horsemen companies, but it's with the Winged Hussars, and the company's prospects are beginning to look bleak.

Traps have been laid throughout a number of systems, and Commander Alexis Cromwell and her flagship, Pegasus, will be hard-pressed to make it back to their secret base. Even with Rick's help, the situation is much worse than anyone in the Hussars could have imagined. The Four Horsemen are being hunted, and the Hussars's future is dark. But there's one thing Alexis's enemies didn't count on - Alexis Cromwell is nobody's prey.

This series has a particular style as you’ve learned listening up to this point, the narrator is different from the other two books we’ve heard and pronounced things differently than both of them with an extremely slow and strange cadence. Maybe this doesn’t bug people but this is a far cry from my favorite narrator that did cartwrights cavaliers. The story was good as is to be expected but I’m a little nervous going into the Golden Horde as it’s the same narrator and I won’t get to hear the original until the short story compilation after so here’s hoping the last one doesn’t get botched as well.

Great story, weird performance

Seemed like the audio was redubbed after the original recording. Was just very odd way to listen to

Good story

This one is a departure from the previous 2 in that it resolves mostly in space. I really like seeing this different setting. Looking forward to more from the hussars

Space battles!

obvious the author has military experience, also obvious the narrator does not. Mk = "mark", sop = "S-O-P". Not overly an issue, just as bit of a distraction. Overall a great series.

Great book series

Had me entertained from beginning to end. Space combat at it's best . I enjoyed how the book explored more of the horsemans universe.

A Fantastic Addition to The Series.

the book starts kinda slow and semi confusing but it really picks up and finishes strong. although i delt it could have been shorter by the time you're half way I to it you won't care anymore.

slow in the beginning but finishes strong.

This book is what I have come to expect from this series and I loved it. Moving the focus to a more space based company really helps expand the world while grounding it in real human emotion or sometimes the lack thereof that makes you feel for the characters

Another amazing story

Great world, great plot, but this narrator is garbage. I finished it only because of the plot

narrator makes it a drag

The author did a great job telling a solid story in an extremely complex world. Action was also first-rate.

Great world

Another good thread in the Revelation cycle, looking forward to the next book to finish the introduction of the universe. Voice over could have been much better. The voice actor wasn't very dynamic, and there are jarringly clear instances where recordings on different equipment or settings were spliced in, and not to artistic effect.

Two strikes and a home run.
