About this listen

Death comes for everyone eventually, but Izzy Maitland plans to live forever. At nearly eighteen years old, it's not an unreasonable goal, but Fate has other plans. Izzy has a car accident. A bad one. Suddenly, strange things start happening and her ordinary life is turned upside down. She wakes up tasting blood, more often than not, and her injuries heal at an alarming rate. Her friends and family weaken, and every day, Izzy grows stronger. Strangest of all, she seems to have acquired a stalker, and he might be the Angel of Death.

Good Narration . . story needs work

Would you listen to Wings of Darkness again? Why?

Probably not. Male narrator had weird pauses and story was not very good.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting was the GRIM character, the least, the angel of death he was so . . run of the mill anti hero

Which character – as performed by Gregory Salinas and Angel Clark – was your favorite?

GRIM Reaper

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no . . i didnt really have an amazing or bad reaction either way

Don't listen with the lights off!

This supernatural text felt so real thanks to the voices of Clark and Salinas. At times, I felt like I was the one being stalked, I was so into the story. No one creates a better mood of darkness than Clark when they read.

Good story, but poorly delivered

Pros: Good characters, good story plot, good action, sweet romance.

Cons: Narrators do an awful job. The female one makes the girls sound like they are 10. The male makes these very old Angels make them sound like they are teenage boys. The story drags a little instead of getting to the point of things. It also is very juvenile most of the time. I think it would be a lot better if the "kid/teenage" like ways of high school was left out, and we focused more on her future and her relationship with her angel. She after all is leaving high school becoming an adult.

I did like Grim and am interested to see if the other book will be more "grown up"

A must read for paranormal romance fans!

I won a ecopy of this book but I upgraded to the audio version. My reading experience is based on the audio.

I'm going to start with the narrator. She did a great job. Her voice was soothing and captured the emotions of the Izzy the main character. Now the narrator who read for Asher was completely sultry and I will probably be having sweet dreams about him. I was impressed with the job they did.

I was completely immersed in the story. It grabbed me from the beginning and I was hooked. I just adored the main character Izzy but my favorite character was Emily. Emily was the perfect snarky side kick. She helped balance out the drama that was going on and allowing a bit of humor. Asher sounds yummy. I think if someone were to stalk me and turn me into something I would pick Asher to do it. I loved the flow and balance of this story and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I had a couple of favorite parts so I'm going to try and be vague as to not give much away. I loved the haunted house scene. I could easily imagine it and haunted houses are one of my favorite things. It was detailed oriented and hit a few fear spot inside of me. My other favorite part is when Izzy talks to Asher especially in the beginning. With no one being able to see Asher it looks like she is talking to herself. I could see it in the grocery store and it made me spit my water out thinking of it.

I would recommend this book to any of my paranormal loving friends.

narrator sucks

The male narrator was okay, but the female narrator is quite horrible. She would be better off reading it than trying to perform it.
