About this listen

The riveting debut work from celebrated newcomer Lish McBride, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer drops a seemingly average boy into the adventure of a lifetime. Sam can’t complain about much, even if his job isn’t the most glamorous one around. But his world gets a whole lot more complicated when he crosses paths with Douglas, a necromancer who gets paid to raise the dead. Douglas thinks Sam might have the right touch for necromancing, and when this turns out to be all too true, Sam faces unimaginable dangers.

Any additional comments?

I would have given this 5 stars across the board except for the fact that JT Ross pronounced the word "couldn't " In a most annoying way. Like he was from New Jersey. No ofence NJ. The book started off kind of slow but after the first hour it started to flow nicely. I hope this is the first in a series. No explicit sex if you are into that, which I am not. Thank you for that Ms McBride. I will read more by you. Worth the credit.

Great first attempt.

The story is great as always, I would expect nothing else from Lish McBride. Narrative was mediocre. I feel that there was a better choice of narrators, but not terrible.

Great book

loved it

Good story, good characters, teenbopper story, but works for an adult. Likeable characters. Bounced back and forth between necromancer and werewolf but tied in together.

Not bad

One of my favorite storys to reread. Mrs W and Harbinger of death in saddle shoes is hilarious.

i first read this book in middle school almost 10 years ago and have been searching for it again ever since.i loved it more with this performance. Ross does a great job capturing Sam’s smart-ass perspective, the humor is never flat! & Sorensen is a great narrator, his voice is like velvet. i think at certain points, the writing can be a little corny but it’s a YA fantasy/supernatural plot so what can you honestly expect? overall, a great story and so well performed. highly recommend!!! :)

long lost love
