Publisher's summary

When supernatural secrets collide, it’ll take more than coffee to brew the perfect love.

When Ky Hernández bonded with his familiar, Zuri, his life changed forever. Their connection turned him into a practicing witch and led him to his calling as a medimagical professional. However, it totally tanked his love life - what guy would settle for eternal second place behind a parrot?

So, Ky keeps his witchy nature under wraps and sticks to hookups with humans, which can never go anywhere. But the mouthwatering barista at the coffee shop next door makes him thirst for more than a caffeine fix.

The charms Ewan Jones uses to appear human are inconvenient, disorienting, and necessary. Ewan and his siblings are achubyddion, metaphysical healers whose powers are coveted by unscrupulous supernatural beings.

And let’s face it: All supes are unscrupulous, given the right incentive. He’s grateful for the protections that hide his little family and for the barista job that keeps them housed and fed. He’s just so lonely. And his regular Ky, the super-hot, commitment-averse EMT, seems like the perfect candidate for a one-night shot at intimacy. After all, humans are no threat.

It takes a clumsy coffee shop intern, a mysterious werewolf epidemic, and one snarky parrot to unravel their pasts - and give them a chance at a future.

Can’t Get Enough of this World

I really hope EJ Russel continues with the interweaving stories in the Fae out of Water Universe. Although reading/listening to the other books are not necessary, as this is a standalone story by itself, the experience is definitely enriched of you’ve read the other books.

I love the intricate universe she has created and this latest addition was just as awesome.

As always Greg Boudreaux’s narration is spot on, giving life to the characters. I hope there’s more to these series!

Love love love!

Charming :D

Oh, this one I really liked! Fun, cute and very, very entertaining.

There are family secrets, fears and misconceptions, and a strange epidemic that it is spreading, quick. The mystery of the epidimic has a big place in the story (which I really liked) and added a sense of urgence to the plot.

The characters are nice, but my favourite, hands down, is Zuri :P Sorry, but that parrot is a smarty-pants, and I love it.

I admire Ewan's loyalty and love for his family. He's ready to let his life go to protect them, so it's easy to understand his panic when he thinks that he has brought danger to their door. And Ky, lonely, lonely Ki! He found what he didn't know he was needing in Ewan.

Greg Boudreaux' narration was really good :D

Greg, you've done it again. Sweet story, too.

Actually, Greg Boudreaux/Tremblay is the best when it comes to voice acting. I dare any actor paid millions to do a better job. He will beat them. This was a great story; but Greg just put it into the stratosphere with his narration/acting. It would not have been the same with anybody else doing the narration. Just want you to know that I am in love with your work and what you contribute to this particular dramatic art!

Fun paranormal story

I loved Russell’s Fae Out of Water series so I was happy to find this one is part of that universe. I loved both characters. Ewan was sweet and I loved the way he took care of his family. Ky was stubborn when it came to opening himself up to a relationship. He thought he would never be able to have love because of his familiar Zuri. I loved Zuri! Zuri added some humor to the story. These 2 men finally realize it’s not all or nothing. If you’re looking for a low angst paranormal story with some steam and humor you should check out this spin off series. While you don’t need to read the Fae Out of Water series to enjoy this there are characters from that series that appear in this one.
Greg Boudreaux is amazing as usual. His Zuri is awesome.

MM Fantasy Romance

This was a sweet and rather intriguing read. I have read the first of the Fae out of Water series, but I have not read the first of this, and while I think it definitely would have added to the story, it can be read as a standalone. I very much liked Ewan from the very beginning. He was endearing and just wanted to be there for his brother and sister, but he also wanted so much more, and could see the world where he could do that. He took risks, and while they did not always pay off, they did help him realize what he wanted his life to look like. Ky was a bit harder to like, but if I read the first book, I think it would have helped. He seemed very pretentious and just overly jerkish IMO. But, I did like her by about the 40% mark, so that was great. I also really enjoyed the mystery of this weird disease that was going around, and how they solved this, and everything just came full circle. I definitely could have used a ton more steam, this was low on the steam scale for sure. I will definitely be going back to read book one. This was narrated by the lovely Greg Boudreaux and he did a fantastic job, per usual.

Audio ARC received and this is my honest review.

Loved!

I loved this audiobook so much! It was a blast and I never wanted the story to end. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and making me fall in love with them and the story. The author had a fabulous plot and I just adored getting to know the characters and experience them falling in love. I hope to see more of these characters and get to know even more about them.

Love this!

Witch Under Wraps is a book in the Mythmatched series. I adored this book. Ky, a witch who works with his familiar parrot Zuri for the supernatural hospital, has an interest in the cute barista at the coffee shop he frequents, Ewan. The only problem, Ky thinks Ewan is human. Ewan is supernatural himself but takes blockers to protect himself and his brother and sister. Their worlds collide when an intern from the coffee shop, who happens to be a werewolf, gets hit by a vehicle. I loved Ky and Ewan together. This is such an enjoyable book. It's one to listen to again and again. Definitely recommend.
Narrator Greg Boudreaux does an amazing job. His voice for Zuri is perfect. His narration really adds to the story and makes it that much more enjoyable.

A flirty witch is the best kind of witch

Another paranormal love story from EJ Russell and this listener gobbled it up all in one go! I didn’t read the first book in the series but was able to enjoy this book as a stand-alone but I think it would help a bit if you have read some of Russell’s previous paranormal romances before.

A love story between a witch and an achubyddion (which I have never heard of before), this was fun, sexy, funny and as always, my treehouse abs intriguing. Ky’s life changed forever when he bonded with his familiar Zuri the Parrot. He’s witty and flirty by nature but he knew dating for him wouldn’t be as easy since which men would settle for the forever second place behind a familiar prrot. And Ewan is an achubyddion who’s in hiding from supernatural beings who coveted their natural powers and massacred his entire clan and are now hunting for his siblings and him. He’s already grateful enough that he’s alive and kicking but he’s so woo lonely. Ky’s a regular at his coffee shop and a human (or so he thought) who’s very flirty and fun so Ewan thought there’s no harm in giving it a go with Ky. And then he realized how wrong he was.

Fun, sexy, intriguing and absolutely hilarious! Loved, loved it! This is actually a bit low on the steam and a bit heavier on the world building and paranormal stuff. Nevertheless, really enjoyed it. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I have decided to check the first book. Highly recommended if you like light paranormal romance!
