Good little story

With Teeth felt like an episode of Tales From The Crypt. You have a group of morally questionable men embarking on a morally questionable outing that quickly turns supernatural. The vampires are vicious and hungry, but nothing really beyond that. They're mindless killers with little to no backstory. Still, Keene does just enough to make them interesting by explaining they have an almost hive mind, among other original ideas. Donnie and Frank are the standouts of the group, neither of which are your typical stoic heroes by any stretch. I think that is what I liked about this story the most. It showed realistic people in an unrealistic situation.

Another great story

About Blood-Suckers. Also, a B.Keene story. I am loving all of his stories so far. I still listen to "Castaways" and I'm waiting for some of his other writings to be added to Audible.

Mr. Keene does it again

I am quickly becoming a Brian Keene fan. Love his lean, fast paced style. My only gripe is that it wasn't long enough. His books are usually on the short side, and I am normally good with that, but I think he left a really, really good story too short.

Keene does it again

I realized while listening to this that I’ve been reading Keene longer than my 16 year old has been alive. Time well spent. 16 years and he finally gives us a vampire book, long wait, and worth it.

Enjoyable but

I enjoyed the book until the end. It’s not that I didn’t like the end it’s just that if you look it shows almost an hour left. That’s because you get a comment chapter from the author and then a few short stories (which I didn’t listen too as of yet). To disappointed that’s where it ended. Not to give anything away but it could’ve been so much better of a story if it had continued with the plan and then ended after it was done. I would’ve rather that happened and taken up that last hour than just ending. Overall I gave it 3 stars just because even though it a good story when it’s done it almost doesn’t seem finished.

New take on vampires

I really enjoyed that this wasn’t your typical vampire story. It reminded me of that movie The Descent with underground caves and creatures lurking in the dark. Except these creatures can come to the surface when the sun goes down. I’d never read anything by Brian Keene before but I hope to read more in the future because he did a great job on this story.

Outstanding narration & a fun story.

Terrific backwoods mayhem with some truly nasty bloodsuckers and genuinely well thought out reasons for their not being known about with wild garlic and a big hollow in West Virginia. Keene knows how to kick it into gear, and after taking a little time getting us ready with a terrific opening scene and character development, he punches it and we go soaring all the way towards the both gut-punching and, somehow, sweet finale.

Definitely recommended for all vampire fans, and if you demand something different if you’re going to take the chance on a vampire book, this one delivers just that.

Time Winters gives a P-E-R-F-E-C-T performance here, astoundingly well done. I was blown away how good he was.
