Summer camp is a traditional teenage rite of passage, but when you add supernatural powers to the typically high dosage of adolescent hormones - you get an even more combustible mix. Sixteen-year-old werewolf twins Kate and Logan Danvers are none too thrilled at being shipped off to a supernatural youth leadership conference in West Virginia.
From the moment they arrive at the camp, the twins sense something is off, and they react in their usual manner - Logan reserving judgment and surveying the setup while Kate charges forward, determined to get answers. Kate and Logan quickly ascertain that most of the conference attendees have already formed hostile factions, leaving the twins and a few other misfits to band together.
What seems like teen hormones in overdrive becomes something much more dangerous, even deadly. Add in a strange magic-warded cabin in the woods and a local history rife with curses and macabre legends, and it becomes clear this was a really, really bad place to build a camp for teenage supernaturals.
Author's note: This is book 1 in a YA duology. As with all my YA trilogies, this first book ends in a cliff-hanger. Book 2, Wolf's Curse, comes out in March.

I love this world and was so happy to have this book (and the next), and there were definite updates and what seemed like possible future teasers for at least short stories. I keep hoping she will go back to this series and write the next generation (though I love many of her other books as well). All in all, I enjoyed the story.
My appreciation of the performance depended on the narrator. The female narrator was wonderful and engaging, but the male narrator was inconsistent. His character voices were decent, but he was really wooden and sounded like he was just reading when he was performing the parts between the character dialog. It was somewhat jarring because I would be into the story and raptly listening, and then all of a sudden I was no longer in the story, but very aware that I was listening to a story. That really takes away from the magic of an audiobook. If I could, I would have given the performance 3.5 stars.

As long as you know you will need to read both books and enjoy supernatural fiction, I recommend this book. To any teens, any followers that like Kelley Armstrong's books with
elements of magic in them, or anyone that is in the mood for a good werewolf coming of age story.
Now, on to the actual book. I really liked this book. We got to find out what the twins are like! Of course, they are still growing, in every way, but anyone that read the Otherworld books knew they would turn out awesome. At first, I was amazed Kate let anyone chip at her self-esteem and confidence. I know kids at her school don't know, but she is the only living and quite possibly the only werewolf ever to be born female. Then, I remembered how wobbly your opinion of yourself can be in those emotionally intense years of being a teen. She could basically have her choice of any teenage werewolf right now. If the thing with Elijah doesn't become everlasting love, she has no reason to worry. She is almost an adult and could basically pick any werewolf in the world, that is into girls. If you were a guy werewolf, wouldn't you want to be able to share everything with your wife, including chasing each other around in the forest and playing as wolves? You wouldn't have to be super careful with your super fragile gf, which is what humans are when compared with werewolves. You wouldn't have to lie to each other about anything. Wow! Sorry for the tangent.
I have always loved the world where these stories take place. I love that there are so many different kinds of supernaturals. It keeps it interesting. All the twists and surprises work brilliantly.
I want to say more, but I couldn't stop reading after I finished this book and went straight on to book two of this duology. The books are obviously mixing freely in my brain, but I don't want them to mix freely in my review.

Full star off for just a total mishandling on that. And another note that the male narrator was pretty bad.
Well, Rhat Was abrupt
