Publisher's summary

The Fourth of July

In a late-night showdown after a near-fatal chase, San Francisco police lieutenant Lindsay Boxer has to make an instantaneous decision - and sets off a chain of events that leaves a police force disgraced and an entire city divided. As summer comes into full swing, Lindsay and her friends in the Women's Murder Club battle for her life on two fronts: before a judge an jury as her trial comes to a climax, and facing unknown adversaries who will do anything to keep her from the truth.

The Fifth Horseman

It is a wild race against time as Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer and the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, attorney Yuki Castellano, lead an investigation into a string of mysterious patient deaths and reveal a hospital administration determined to shield its reputation at all costs. While the hospital wages an explosive court battle that grips the entire nation, the Women's Murder Club hunts for a merciless killer among its esteemed medical staff.

The Sixth Target

While Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano prepares to prosecute the toughest trial of her life, the city is in the grip of a chilling crime spree. Children of well-to-do families are being abducted. But the kidnappings are followed by devastating silence - no demand for ransom. Working frantically with her new partner, Lindsay Boxer struggles to find the connection that will help them make sense of these horrific crimes.

.

I'm enjoying this series. Main characters are believably real and the narrator does a good job keeping things interesting. Looking forward to getting the next in the series.

Good read

Any additional comments?

I enjoy all of the "Women's Murder Club" books except for the background music. I find it distracting and unnecessary. The narrator does a fine job of conveying the emotions of the story without the dramatic music.

Awesome plot and characters

James Patterson is awesome as usual. The only problem I had was the music added to the audio recording. It’s cheesy and distracting. It takes away from the natural build up in the story.

Descent murder stories

Would you consider the audio edition of Women's Murder Club Box Set, Volume 2 to be better than the print version?

The series hold your interest but she does seem to enjoy the court room a little too much.

What does Carolyn McCormick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Audible books gives me a chance to "read" books I wouldn't normally buy to read. This series was one of those. It sounded like descent story lines but not one I would have purchased myself as a reader.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I enjoy listening to the books while on my bicycle or driving across town in heavy traffic.

full of action

This is my first experience reading a book series and enjoyed the concept and will certainly consider reading more. I enjoyed the character familiarity, especially since typically so much time is spent laying out the foundation of the books cast and characters to the reader. In a book series, the author can regain that time spent. This book was full of stories, from start to finish there were 2 separate storylines running simultaneously. One about a court trial proceedings, the other about the investigative detective storyline. I enjoyed this, it kept you interested and wanted to read more.

I didn't like that the book chapter references didn't match the narrator's chapter reference. In other words, the narrator would say chapter 3 and the audible reach chapter 9.

Overall I enjoyed this box set and beleive I will buy and reach more.
