Publisher's summary

After his boyfriend dumps him, Hayden is in need of a place to live. Thanks to his buddies, he has a great lead to room with a guy named Cody in Metropolis, the hottest condominium in town. But things get a little uncomfortable when Hayden shows up for the interview and discovers he and Cody share an awkward up close and personal experience from their past.

Cody doesn't have a problem living with Hayden. He's had his share of help when he was down and out, and he wants to do the same for this guy. It's not long until Cody realizes how great it is having someone around. Sometimes, they watch movies together...and other times, they help get each other off - one of the perks of living with a guy who's as laid back about sex as he is. They hit it off so well Cody even decides to act as wingman for Hayden while he gets used to hitting the town again.

Before they know it, they're spending more time with each other than with anyone else. But Hayden just got out of a relationship and should be spending his nights having fun and working it around town, not jumping into something serious again. Cody's always just gone with the flow, believing if it's meant to happen, it will. But life doesn't always work that way, and if they don't fight for what's right in front of them, Hayden and Cody might be over before they have the chance to even get started.

Love Is

In this case love is a 4 letter word and that word is Cody. Uber cool, sexy, nothing can touch me Cody who finds his match in the quiet and unassuming Hayden.

If you have read the first book (which if you have not you totally should) you will recognize Cody and Hayden as Gary and Travis' friends. Hayden is coming off a heartbreaking break up and it is my humble opinion that his ex, named Lance, is very possibly the best written villain in M/M romance cuz boy do you hate this utter and complete douche nozzle. More than once I was mentally screaming at Hayden, dude you are soooo much better off without this dude..anyway I digress.

When Cody offers to let Hayden move in with him things start to get interesting and you just want them to work because they are just so good together but they are both scared and the fear is palpable and understandable and frustrating as heck.

But that you come to care for these characters is the point of all of this, that is a mark of good writing and Michael's delivery is spot on (as usual). So totally worth a read and a listen!

I liked the narration also.

LOL!

Although I enjoy the main story the background characters are what seem to be the best in this one. Cody and Travis had great chemistry and I enjoyed their moments together and Coors Derek had me laughing out loud. all-in-all I enjoyed it but definitely like the other two better than this one.

*** THE HOT & STEAMY SECOND INSTALLMENT! ***

This delicious story of the Metropolis gang continues, this time pairing Hayden & Cody! Two sweet boys who have to rise above their personal challenges to find their HEA!! And find it they do.

Another excellent journey, magnificently narrated by the sexy Michael Dean, guiding us through the exploits & challenges of our MC's; deepening the storyline, adding new & interesting folks and their scenarios. Highly recommend this uber romantic series that has been skillfully crafted.

On to book three......

A comfort re-read/re-listen.

This whole series is solid. It stands up to repeat listens. What I like about Working it is that we have two working class guys without college degrees for different reasons who support each other while they figure out what to do with themselves for livelihoods/hobbies at different paces. They also have hot sex with each other and… hello, sailor! The secondary relationships/friendships are organically worked in.

I find it Working It (& the whole Metropolis series) a comfortable/comforting read. Michael Pauley does a great job. Especially when coming back to it after trying a bunch of authors/narrators who aren’t as enjoyable, it’s good to have books/narrators like this/these who *are* as good as you remember them to be.

I have a crush on u

This was a very interesting story to listen 2. Haden righty off the back is just like able and Man U feel bad for him after meeting his ex lance. Haden needs to start over and Cody is the key he never knew he needed , the slow build romantic aspect of the story all the while the sexual part is used as a connector between past and present with aspects of what could be. It turns out to be a very well written story with a lovely ending.
