About this listen

Lucky Tyler Holloway has never felt particularly lucky. Frankly, he's as regular as can be. He works construction with his brothers, loves his small-town life, and shares a close bond with his family, especially his grandmother. Okay, so maybe he has a few secrets in his closet, like his bisexuality...and that other thing he doesn't talk about...

Grayson "Saint" St. Claire has it all: a dream job in LA, money, freedom. Saint doesn't do attachments, which is just the way he likes it. Still, he'd be lying if he didn't admit he missed his deceased parents, the only family he had...until he gets an email from some guy named Tyler, revealing the existence of a grandmother he's never met, prompting Saint to drop everything and drive across the country.

Saint and Tyler couldn't be more different. Tyler dislikes Saint on sight, but there's something about Tyler that gets under Saint's skin. It's not until they get to know one another that everything begins to change for the better. But the Holloways and St. Claires have secrets, their pasts tied together in tragic ways. With the odds stacked against them, Saint and Tyler have to face the fact that love alone might not be enough....

Contains mature themes.

The narrator was Amazing! The story line was so perfect. I laughed at so many parts off this book, cried, swooned. Great job and a great listen and read

Solid story

Only 4 stars because the narration made it difficult to distinguish between voices. Both male leads were played with a southern accent, even though one was born and raised in California. The cognitive dissonance it caused threw things off.

MMMM Sean Crisden!

I loved this! This is all about breaking free of expectations, explorations, self-discovery and a slow, simmering, solid path to true love. There is a LOT of sex but it is all really “moving the story forward” sex and not gratuitous.

The feelz are strong and deep and my only complaint is that we didn’t get to see more of our couple in the future… I think that would be an important piece for these two guys.

In any case, fans of the author will love this, gay virgin fans, friends to lovers and small town romance fans, as well.

Highly recommended!

Audio
MMMMMM. I love Sean Crisden’s narrations! His voice is silky smooth and so sexy! I thought his depiction of Saint and Lucky and their families was perfection! He’s so good at emotion and even “aging” his voice when needed.
Highly recommended!

Hate and Love

A twist to a small town meets fast pace fancy city.
Love has no limits. At the end it proves that blood is not the only glue that binds family ties.

4⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lucky and Saint are very different from each other but I loved their story so very much.

Lucky had to find Saint for his grandmother. Even though she didn’t ask, I loved that Saint didn’t reply to the email from Lucky he just got a car and came. He was so starved for family that he couldn’t wait. Even though his grandmother and he never knew her, their relationship is sweet and special.

I very much enjoyed Lucky's protectiveness. But the chemistry between these men is undeniable. From two different worlds, can they make it work?

I can’t wait to dive into Book 2.
The narration was perfect for these two. This is where Sean shines because it was effortless listening.

Cute and positive

It’s a beautiful love story set within some family drama and revelations. At times it lacks a little depth or feels a bit unrealistic but it’s a positive story overall.
The narration brought characters to life and managed to cover for some of the more repetitive parts.

One of the very good ones

The best thing about this one for me was a small Easter egg at Nick’s with Bryce and Nick himself from “Crossroads” — it so happened that I had just finished that trilogy and it was so great to “see” them again and learn what they’ve been up to.
But that’s not the only reason I loved this story. It is a heart stopper all on its own. So much packed into somewhat unrealistic tale but at the same time so believable.
The narrator has done a fantastic job with bringing all the characters to life. Unmistakable voices of each and every one of them. Very talented with portrayal of people of different genders, races and ages. There is never a doubt of who’s speaking.
Overall another great product of Riley Hart’s imagination and incredible narration. Enjoyed immensely and off to read the sequel.
Once again a special thanks for the “Crossroads” Easter egg so neatly packaged in between the lines of another amazing story

It is absolutely lovely. I cried and cried throughout the end. Saint and Lucky are one of the best couples out there. I love it and Riley Hart is always the best.
