This was my first WoW book and I liked it a lot. As an alliance player, seeing the journey our King took in this book was inspiring. I would recommend this to any WoW player.

Great for fans

Helps highlight the Horde and Alliance view points and races with it being a more alliance driven story. A great for anyone wanting to learn about varian the king of storm wind and the worgen. Solid pace and a great read

well written and a great book for alliance fans

The book was amazing, I've read the illidan and the trial of garish book and while good neither had engulfed me with the story. Loved it and now my only worry is that there isn't enough Warcraft books left for me to read.

Full emerge, couldn't put it down.

First and foremost, this narrator was phenomenal. The voices were excellent, particularly for the Worgen. I would place this as my second favorite listening experience, next to Daniel Davis' reading of Star Wars: Darth Plagueis.

Knaak does an amazing job of delivering a great story that completely changed my opinions on Varian Wrynn. Also delivers on a great deal of the Alliance's political dynamic, which was great to experience.

For non-Warcraft fans, this is a great piece of literature, but it is not entirely standalone and, as with most WoW books, functions as an 'inbetween' story for the games.

Worth listening for the performance alone!
