About this listen

With this book Immanuel Velikovsky first presented the revolutionary results of his 10-year-long interdisciplinary research to the public, founded modern catastrophism - based on eyewitness reports by our ancestors-shook the doctrine of uniformity of geology as well as Darwin's theory of evolution, put our view of the history of our solar system, of the Earth and of humanity on a completely new basis - and caused an uproar that is still going on today.

Worlds in Collision - written in a brilliant, easily understandable, and entertaining style and full to the brim with precise information-can be considered one of the most important and most challenging books in the history of science. Not without reason was this book found open on Einstein's desk after his death. For all those who have ever wondered about the evolution of the earth, the history of mankind, traditions, religions, mythology or just the world as it is today, Worlds in Collision is an absolute must-listen!

Unique way to synthesize history and science

Very wide-ranging look at legends, myths, and history being tied to astronomical and geological theories.
Always enjoyable to throw a bomb into the middle of supposedly settled "science" and see it crumble in certain ways.

Eye opening scientific analysis

This author presents scientific and historical evidence for the unsettling near miss of Mars orbit bringing it within 77,000 miles of Earth in 701 BC and on other occasions.

this is a must read for the truth seeker

if you've ever had any doubts that you or being lied to and the truth is constantly being suppressed this book should end all doubts. written in 1957 this book was condemned by the established scientific community. as time has passed the same community has proven most of his theories to be true. it's a great read. hope I can find more of his titles on audible

Excellent work and completely overlooked!

Great reading by the narrator and a priceless piece of literature that modern climate zealots should include in their required reading.

Groundbreaking

Well researched. There are many evidences to the universe being electric and dynamic, as presented here and easily observed if one is willing to open one’s mind and heart to a paradigm shift.

A fresh look at the cosmos and myths and legends

I think this is one of the most blacklisted and band books in the history of academia. They did not know what to do with this man and so they created Carl Sagan to destroy him and his work Belov will always be the best writer whoever lived.

well, it kinda makes sense

I've taken 2 geology classes in college and I remember, multiple times thinking to myself that the explanation i was reading didn't make much sense. In this book, an alternative is given for much of geology, history, religion, and astrology. The author's thesis makes a lot of sense but we must always remember that not understanding something and receiving an explanation that we can wrap our heads around doesn't always make it right. That's why the big conspiracy theories exist. Does this book constitute as a conspiracy theory? I would say it falls under alternative history. I have a degree in history and I appreciate this book a lot because what we think we know about the past is limited to where we stand now and the sciences and religions of the world are not perfect and complete, but tailored for us, where we are now in time, when the solar system seems static and the stories of ancient people seem like fabrications. We don't really know what happened and basing our understanding on how things look now doesn't seem to be working.

fascinating ...but dated in places

this guy did truly exhaustive research for this... very impressive.
it's easy though to zone out on all of the details.

I am not knowledgeable enough about this subject to say that he convinced me, but he does make a compelling argument.

it was published in 1950...some of his details are no longer valid but if you are familiar with the work of Wallace Thornhill, you know that many of the authors theories have been proven as well... so... the jury is still...in my opinion
