About this listen

We are at the end of the series, and it is time to choose sides...

After three months of relative peace, Alekka is about to be jolted by a seismic shift, for ambitious lords and vengeful gods have only been biding their time, choosing their allies, hiding from their enemies, and deciding when to make their move. That time is now.

In Stornas, Reinar is feeling strong, working and training with vigor, imposing his authority on those around him, though internally, he is beset by fears. The threat of Alari grows each day, and though he carries himself with confidence, wanting to assure his people of their safety, Reinar knows it is only a matter of time before the goddess makes an appearance.

Far away from Reinar, Alys is trying to turn her life around, though a terrible secret preys on her mind. She hasn't told anyone—not even Stina—though the arrival of an unexpected visitor forces her to finally reveal what she has done.

Sigurd is lost, far in the North, where he's been desperately trying to do what his father wanted. But to what end and at what cost? He is not alone on his journey, and though his friends want to help him, he wonders how much longer they can remain hidden from Alari and Eskvir and those who wish to kill them.

In Orvala, Mirella has concealed the Sun Torc from her enemies, plotting with Eskvir, hiding their plans from Tarl Brava, knowing that as soon as its power is ignited, Alekka will never be the same again.

Wrath of the Sun is the final book in the Lords of Alekka epic fantasy series.

AE Rayne just Never disappoints!

This book as well as the entire series were some of the best books I have ever read! I have over 1500 books in my library and I would say all of AE Rayne's are in my top 10 series catagory. You absolute can Not put them down once you start! I d find myself waking in the middle of the night to continue listening because i absolutely couldn t wait to see what was happening next and going snail slow near the end because I didn t want to the book to end. I have done this with every book of hers and i guarantee you ll do the same!

Such Excellent Writing

Great ending to a fabulous series! Kate Reading could read a phonebook and make it sound wonderful.

What a finale!!!

What can I say that could come close to the explosion of feelings I have about this series? I am so happy A.E. Rayne is still writing this world with The Fate of the Furycks series because I cannot get enough!

Okay, my review. Wrath of the Sun begins a little after the battle that defeated Gudrum with a healthy & strong Reinar in Stornas as the King of Alekka. As he prepares for Tarl and his dreamer, Mirella, Sigurd remains in the North, hiding from his murderous sister, Alari. Alys has put distance from Reinar, trying to make a life without him. :(
WoTS starts off with the same at-the-speed-limit any A.E. Rayne story does, with tendrils of recapping without info dumps. As usual though, the story kicks into high-gear quickly and had me regretting needing to sleep, shower, or adult where I couldn't listen. The character development continues to evolve with each character, which is truly masterful of A.E. Rayne in a 6 book series. I've said this in previous reviews, but what I love about these stories is how everything is so fresh an not a regurgitation of previous conflicts, battles, magic wielding, or twists. The twist at the end with Elin, I didn't see that coming, btw.
Wrath of the Sun gave me everything I needed in a series finale book, though my hunger for vengeance and accountability wasn't sated by every character that needed it. That's on me though, but I felt the same with Ivvan in the Furyck Saga. Anywho, the ending was a tad predictable, but satisfying nonetheless. All in all, Wrath of The Sun falls in my Top 5 series though nothing beats the Furyck series. Both of them.
Kate Reading remains in my Top 5 narrators! Unsurprisingly, she did a fantastic job throughout this series.
