About this listen

Danica Jensen dreams of a man she knows she can never have. After one brief encounter five years ago, her heart is lost to him forever, and she won't give up hope of seeing him again. Raised by a bitter father, she's learned to be strong and resourceful on her own. When a pleasure trip to the newly created Yellowstone National Park turns into a battle for survival, her inner strength is tested like never before.

A woman like Danica doesn't interest Josh Osborne. He'd be crazy to get involved with a bossy, strong-willed white woman. His mixed heritage has always made people wary of him. He prefers to be on his own, and his role as protector of the national park's game allows for no attachments.

Danica's dream of ever winning Josh's heart shatters after a cruel twist of fate changes her life forever. Suddenly forced together, they must confront their deepest secrets. Josh can't deny his growing respect and admiration for this brave woman, but will the bond they've forged be powerful enough to turn his feelings into love? When an unforeseen danger threatens their lives, Josh must protect more than the wild inhabitants of the park.

Yellowstone Dawn: Yellowstone Romance Series, Book

This is the second book in the series with no time travel. This is also the second book in the series that was difficult to read because of the violence the heroine had to endure. I really did like Danica's character. I admired her in Yellowstone Awakening and was pleased to see her again. The way that she loved her baby despite the way she was conceived was just beautiful. The reunion between Danica and Kate was also sweet. It was Josh that I couldn't bring myself to like. I have loved the Hero in the other 10 books by Peggy by not Josh. His inability to reason things out really bothered me. Given the way that his mother died, I would have thought that Danica didn't need to actually spell out how she an unwed woman came to be pregnant and had killed the father of her child....

Although, the story was hard to read, it was well written and Danica makes it worth reading.

Narration brings story to life.

I read this book a couple of years ago and loved it. But hearing thru Audible brought the story to life. Nick does a great job narrating the story. I really like the way that Peggy Henderson develops her characters as well. From dealing with prejudices and mistrust to finding love, the story is full of action.

Loved the Yellowstone series

Loved the series but wish the narrator would have researched how to pronounce words such as, hearth, calico, taffeta, and Hiram, to name just a few. It was frustrating to listen knowing he was saying the words incorrectly. Otherwise he did a good job.

Another great time travel story

Any additional comments?

I loved the characters of Josh & Dani. Dani has had a crush on Josh for years, but Josh is only interested in native American women. Dani wins Josh's heart when she has her baby, Dawn, and Josh feels the need to protect her. This entire series is fantastic!

Love found in the wilderness of Yellowstone

Would you listen to Yellowstone Dawn again? Why?

Yes, I enjoy listening to audio books while working around the house. If I have read the book, this just adds another wonderful way to enjoy the story. I also enjoy listening to Nick Sarando narrating. He has a nice way of describing what a character is thinking and I like his voice for the different characters. I would never hesitate to purchase an audio book if I knew he was the narrator.

Any additional comments?

Dani may be one of my favorite heroines in the Yellowstone Series. I liked her the first time I met her in Yellowstone Awakening and I am so happy the Author gave Dani, her own story. Dani is a beautiful, strong, brave and independent young woman that takes the hard knocks of life and deals with them with courage and hope, that things will get better. When she meets Josh in the wilderness of Yellowstone, she realizes who he is and that she met and fell in love with him five years ago, but never expected to see him again.

Josh, handsome and rugged, but a hard mountain man, (but below the surface a very loving and supportive man with those he cares about) doesn't remember Dani and wouldn't care if he did. He always swore he would never get married unless he had a shotgun held to his head. He likes his independence too much. Little did he know what the future held for him.

Yellowstone National Park in 1877 is the background for this story, of a sweet and passionate romance with danger and suspense to keep us turning the pages, as our hero and heroine dodge bullets, trying to save each other from the enemy.

I loved this audio book and will be enjoying it again. I highly recommend. JudyE

Don't protest too much!

Would you consider the audio edition of Yellowstone Dawn to be better than the print version?

NOPE! I love them both! Nick is AWESOME!

What other book might you compare Yellowstone Dawn to and why?

None.

Have you listened to any of Nick Sarando’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nick is an amazing performer. I love his voice and the way he tells the story! I am so glad that Peggy got him for most of her Yellowstone books.

If you could take any character from Yellowstone Dawn out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I think Dani and I would be friends! She is strong and yet vulnerable at the same time, I like ladies like that!

Any additional comments?

Love this one again, Peggy! It is interesting that there was NOTHING about time travel, snake heads or old indians in this one. . .

Great story continuing the series

Danica and Josh are a great couple. This story is captivating and exciting.
Danica has had a horrible year, experiencing a significant amount of violence before she's rescued by Josh. Living in Yellowstone is dangerous, and all the characters involved have to be tough and smart to survive.
