• Fighting Mental Illness
    Nov 16 2024

Fighting for mental and emotional health is not simply about reading your Bible and praying more. There are spiritual, mental, emotional and physical components to full recovery and freedom. Many great leaders and prophets in the Bible walked through times of despair, depression, and discouragement—yet God used them regardless. God can and does use whom He wishes.

Also, people are fighting mental health challenges every day when they come to school, work or church and they’re stuck in their challenges. Most of these people have to go to school, work or church feeling like they don’t have a safe place to talk to anyone. They’re not able to talk to anyone because they feel unsafe or trapped, isolated or alone. It doesn't have to be this way.

Feel free to seek help, pray about!

  • The Psychology of Deadbeat Dads: Understanding Why Some Fathers Fail to Provide Support ode
    Nov 8 2024

Deadbeat Fathers: A father who neglects his responsibilities as a parent, especially one who does not pay child support. Which can also be a mother. The phrase "deadbeat dad" is a familiar one, and yet it's often misused.
While the word "deadbeat" actually appears in some states' child support guidelines, not all parents who've fallen behind on child support payments are willfully refusing to support their children financially. There're huge financial, cultural and racial issues that are prevalent and ways to compartmentalize, assist, dealing with and correcting the stereotypical behaviors. From the 1970s to the 90s, the federal government implemented multiple harsh enforcement measures within the program. These policies have a long history of punishing people for being people of color and poor. Overall, roughly 15 percent of all men of color in larger U.S. cities have been incarcerated at some point for nonpayment of child support, compared with 5 percent of fathers overall. Men wake-up and take care of your children (period).

  • Black Love or War? How racism hinders Black dating and relationships and Divorce amongst Christians
    Sep 27 2024

Slavery and racism historically prevented and disrupted Black marital unions and continues to plague the Black community and Black relationships today.

In the aftermath of slavery, the states denounced courtship and marital arrangements that American Africans devised during slavery and presented Christian heterosexual marriage as a gateway to responsible citizenship, targeting men of color to be social patristical provider and women of color to be subordinate helpmates.
Enter now policies that worked against people of color men and women. It would be these policies that would create an unprecedented displacement of Black families with men being forced to leave their homes to ensure financial stability.
Now for Christians, people have analyzed what the Bible is really telling us and how to interpret it. Many hold tightly to the claim that God’s view on divorce is that it is a sin.

Let's get intimate: No Confidence in the Flesh
Philippians 3:8 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.
Victory is mine, victory today is mine!

  • Why Do People Bully?
    Jul 15 2024

Bullying is a behavior that has historically been linked to kids on the playground, but it can happen among people of any age in any setting—schools, households, workplaces. The main question observers of such conduct have is...why do people bully others?

Bullying is a distinctive pattern of repeatedly and deliberately harming and humiliating others, specifically those who are smaller, weaker, and younger or in any way more vulnerable than the bully. The deliberate targeting of those of lesser power is what distinguishes bullying from garden-variety aggression.

When the narrow of focus, specifically looking at cases of bullying among teens, studies find that 30% of adolescents from 12 to 18 years old say they have been bullied at school, these numbers are crazy right? Let’s take a closer look at the psychology behind bullying.

A report from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) found that one in three students are bullied in school annually. We've all seen the heartbreaking consequences of bullying, which can be as simple as missing school or getting bad grades, to more severe in school shootings and suicide. But where do the bullies themselves come from? This is the 1000-dollar question? Let's take a closer look.
