• Ep:15 Real Cyster Story with Anuhya Korrapati: Diagnosis Challenges and Impact of PCOS on quality of life

    In this episode I have invited ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠a fellow cyster , ⁠Anuhya Korrapati⁠ a Senior Research Fellow , pursuing her PhD in Health Economics at christ university,Bengaluru. She holds an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, where she was awarded the Postgraduate York Gold Award in 2019. Currently, Korrapati is focusing on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and has presented her research findings at several prestigious institutions, including IGIDR (Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research) in Mumbai, PondicherryUniversity, AIIMS Kanpur, FLAME University, and the University of Sheffield, UK. In 2019, Korrapati founded ⁠BeyondBlood⁠ ( peer support group for PMDD , registered not for profit ) and served on the Youth Advisory Board of IAPMD, USA. As a Policy Fellow at YLAC (Young Leaders for Active Citizenship), Korrapati was part of a four-member team that drafted the Menstruation Benefit Bill 2018. Additionally, she contributed to creating an advocacy campaign for menstrual leave. In this episode we have a very candid conversation about recognising pcos symptoms and managing mental health , a very under-spoken aspect of PCOS. Her career began at the age of 17, and over the past decade she has been been actively involved in theatre plays and Telugu feature films. Diagnosed with PCOS in her late teens, she is dedicated to raising awareness about this condition, stressing the importance of mental and psychological well-being, and advocating for women's health .
