    Welcome to the Healthy Christian Women Podcast!

    I'm your host, Dr. Melody. This weekly podcast has been created to empower, equip and enhance the lives of Christian women to easily begin living healthier in their mind, body and spirit.

    • Why does our health matter?
    • Does God really care if we're healthy or not?
    • Does the Bible have anything to say about our physical health?

    Actually, Yes! The Bible is full of direction, instruction and even warnings about consequences of not caring for ourselves. It tells us that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit and we are the stewards. If you were God, how would you expect your steward to maintain and care for one of your temples?

    The thing is, we live in fast-paced, fast-food, candy and soda driven society, so it can be hard to go against our culture. But as Obesity rises, and Heart Disease and Diabetes reach epidemic status, we MUST begin to take more responsibility for the care of ourselves. And in turn, lead our friends and family in doing the same.

    And I'll show you how.

  • 005: [Part 4 of 5] How to Become a Fat Burning Machine (Aka Weight Loss with Ketosis)

    Our body is an efficiency machine, and if we treat it right, it will help us by using it's own fat stores for energy, which means more rapid weight loss!

    We live in a culture where more often than not, we are consuming more than we need, and the body stores the excess as fat. So how can we actually turn the tables and help our body give us all the energy we need and burn our own fat in the process? This is what is called ketosis.

    You may have heard of 'keto diets', which help your body do just that, but it's not necessarily a sustainable way of eating, long term. Instead, use these tips in Part 4 of our 5 part series and get your body into fat-burning mode (ketosis) by eating healthy, whole-food meals in a certain way that is sustainable and easy.

    In our final section of The Daily5 ™ five-part series, we have been exploring the five most critical daily actions for weight loss, healthy living and habit creation for sustainable results.

    Today's final part focuses on the dreaded 'E' word: Exercise. For most people this is a begrudging topic that elicits visions of spandex, loud music, and working til you drop in a puddle of sweat. Who has the time, and that many spandex outfits? ;)

    This episode features our first podcast interview with Megan Jox, a Revelation Wellness® Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer who shares her story of how helping women with eating disorders led her to asking God for a fresh revelation of how to help them and what He revealed to her. From there began a deeper intimacy with the Holy Spirit in her own health journey, and something she now teaches all of her clients how to be more in-tune with the Holy Spirit's guiding.
