Désirée Kjellin växte upp i en fin familj. På ytan såg allt bra ut, men bakom kulisserna levde hon i en mardröm som inte ville ta slut. Trots att polisen grep in vid ett flertal tillfällen lyckades familjen ändå upprätthålla sin fina fasad.
