All over this big old world are thing from long ago, hidden away by time and deterioration. Some are beautiful, even in ruins, and you can probably name a half dozen off the top of your head. There are some, however, that are so difficult to find, so dangerous to travel, where we are unwanted, that those explorations have been spotty at best and forty years apart. But little changes in the desert. Not the attitudes, the dismissal of women, and the treasures that await the bold… and the determined. Dr. James Arland and his wife Heidi are such people. She did not ask to be here. Her Uncle Beauford always talked of her being the first 'Lady US Marshal.' But, that was just talk. Still, she trained and practiced until she was deadly. The Indian half breed stray was proving quite competent, quite the determined Hunter. Then, circumstances forced her to put on that badge. She was, as Beauford had predicted, the first Lady US Marshal. And she was damned mad. Every outlaw from the bottom to top in that raiding gang that killed her Uncle and her sisters had to go. Especially the top. Outlaws, beware. You asked for it, now you gotta deal with it.

There was a Blackfoot so important that it boggles the mind to have him buried in obscurity, lost among the wild tales of success and triumph, regardless of how inaccurate. A non-violet leader, a damned good warrior, and not afraid to kill, if he had to. But he was one of the very few who saw the futility of war against the white man. They tried to kill him, to wipe his People from the face of the earth, but he stood resolute and prevailed. And so, the Blackfoot remain unto this day. Nature can be unkind. The death of a den is a traumatic event to any wolf. No matter that the wolf is the apex predator, like any form of killer, there is sometimes something bigger, stronger, and just as deadly. So, the little pup is on his own. I am a hard-nosed, experienced Detective First. I have solved some of the most viscious murders you can imagine. But something changed. CHAOS History: According to Zoroastrianism, the main religion in the Persian Empire, Ahriman or Angra Mainyu was the god of all that is bad and chaotic in the world. He is the evil twin brother of Spenta Mainyu or Ahura Mazda; the “Wise Lord.” Everything that the latter one did, Ahriman would do the opposite. This where it all started. There will come a time when mankind must seek new homes as Earth is full up. There are two ways to do this: new planets, and huge space stations. Those stations are already on the drawing boards. We will find ways to expand a simple station to hold a half million people, someday, but that is a long way out. And we will need many of them. This is not a warning.
