James Stone's journey across the artificial constellation of Evigone reaches its final phase. With war facing him on all sides and the avatars of Panadawn plotting in the background, does he have what he needs to win? Or is there another solution he hasn't seen? Faced on all sides by enemies too powerful for his allies and friends, James Stone has one final option left to him; to take the throne of Panadawn. But will it be the cage he has always feared? Or will it be a new kind of freedom?

After his successes comes disaster. Wider forces are at work in the Third Sphere, ones with more ambition, more vision and more ships. As James Stone seeks to be reunited with Faam, even his home world begins to turn against him.
