The Pier & Opal Series

Pier is a young Navy man, recently discharged from the military after a life-altering injury, who travels to Malta intending to find his father. Instead, he finds a complicated, beautiful islander, Opal, who is deeply entangled in a close-knit island community and emotionally bound by a tormenting and secret history of her own. Pier takes up residence in Opal’s family inn, quickly becoming entrenched in Maltese life and embroiled in a dangerous competition for Opal’s affection.

It has been four years since Pier sailed away from Opal, the only woman he ever loved. Memories of her haunt him, even in faraway California, where he lives with his son. When a mysterious call draws him back to Malta, he discovers a town under siege by tyranny and finds Opal on the brink of madness, despairing over a letter she received from France. Determined to settle old debts and free the town, Pier also hopes to win back Opal’s devotion.
