About this listen

Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I'm one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie's a jerk, because it also thinks I'm the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group.

Contains mature themes.

Really enjoying this crazy, funny, sexy series by Ruby Dixon. This book is the second in the series and I am planning to continue listening to as many as are available. While the setting is kind of crazy, the story itself is so well written that the characters themselves come across as very credible indeed. Well done!

Great Series!

3.5 stars — Still a total guilty pleasure listen, but I did have a harder time connecting with the MCs in this one…but that’s just personal taste I think.

It took me most of this book to warm up to Liz…and she’s still probably never going to be a favourite of mine. She’s abrasive, rude, sarcastic, and she borders on mean and uncaring. She needs a beat on the head to bring out her empathy. It’s not that I don’t get where she’s coming from, but my poor sensitive heart is just always going to be wary of harsher women like Liz. Which is not to say there’s anything wrong with her, just that I can’t always connect. I did feel for her past, how she missed her Dad, how she was freaking tired of having all her choices taken away. And when she finally figured her shiznit out, I appreciated that she went after what she wanted with a tenacity that knew no bounds.

Raahosh was his own mixed up bag of crazy. But I did appreciate that at least he had reasons for being so…paranoid and possessive. I loved the way he took care of Liz at the beginning, making it doubly hard to watch Liz not give him any credit. I mean, don’t get me wrong, he made some bad choices. But I felt like he held out 5 million olive branches before one was taken.

I really loved the way their relationship turned after a certain tense event, and in the end I couldn’t picture a better match for both of them. They just suited one another to a tee.

This is definitely going to be a fun series to just check in on and devour another one whenever I’m feeling in the mood for something out of the ordinary.

Strong ending...

I can’t stop listening! It just gets better and more detailed with each book! I get lost in their world

I have fallen in love with this series! I love how much the guys protect their strange little humans from not only the environment, but also themselves. I love how Liz and Raahosh butt heads and constantly argue, but eventually realize that they really do love each other and would do anything for each other. I love how Raahosh continued taking care of Liz, even after he got into trouble with the tribe. I also love how they have continued to use the same narrators. I'm hoping they narrate all of the books in the series!

Absolutely Amazing!

I think this is my fav of the series. I love enemies to lovers though so maybe that’s why! I love all the guys and all the couples. Each of the guys is so caring to his woman/mate! I absolutely love this series!!!

The “cootie”. I just can’t get over it. She is a bit annoying but I love her reflection on when she is wrong or misunderstands things. The character development is pretty good.

Lol this series is so cute

Liz's story with Rahosh is quite the romance, their story is a fun ride to be along on.

captivating read

This author is really good at keeping a storyline going strong throughout the book.
The character growth in this book is well done also. The male lead starts off sounding like a jerk but he really is not.
(Im not a fan of books were the man mistreats a woman and everyone just goes with it.)
This male lead was misunderstood in many ways and he grows so much throughout the story. The female lead is strong woman and does not give a shit if she steps on a persons toe for the greater good. But she’s also compassionate. The romance grows over time and you feel along with them. This is a strong couple.
The steamy bits were well done, the action and suspense good.
Female reader great and same with the male. He did way better than the first book.

Reading book number 2 in this series is a great idea. I suggest you go for it.

Still going great

I was happy to find more of the books on audible. Only thing I was sad about was the voice actors didn’t change for the characters. I was hoping for new people because all I hear is Georgie and her accent is horrendous.

Overall story love it
