About this listen

The ice planet has given me a second lease on life, so I'm thrilled to be here. Sure, there's no cheeseburgers, but I'm healthy and ready to be a productive member of the small tribe. What I didn't anticipate was that there'd be a savage stranger waiting nearby, watching me.

And when he takes me captive, the unthinkable happens . . . I resonate to him. Resonance means mating and children . . . but I don't know if this guy's ever been around anyone before. He's truly a barbarian in all ways, right down to clubbing me over the head and claiming me as his own. So why is it that I crave his touch and hunger for more?

Contains mature themes.

Top five alien series

Love this series since I found it in kindle, and I’m thrilled it’s in audio now. In this installment, We found out why Harlow mysteriously disappeared at the end of Barbarian Lover. We get to enjoy Harlow & Rukh’s story.
Lloyd & Jackson do a very decent job of narration. I’m glad we get to hear this in the M/F voices.

Harlow & Rukh

I liked the first part of this book best, and that is only because I hate it when books skip a large amount of time in books where we as readers are supposed to think ever thing is hunky dory in that time space. Otherwise the book is still super sexy with a hunky alien (at least once you clean him up). I do see a big flaw in their survival plan and that is all meat and no fiber and veggies, hummm things would not be as fun as portrayed. But obviously this book isn’t written for survival skills, but for sexy times skills, wink wink.

Love these barbarians!

This fourth book in the IcePlanet Barbarian series was really entertaining! The heroine is clubbed over the head by a loner warrior at the end of book 3. It’s really better to listen to these stories in order of release, in order to get the full story. When she wakes up to a naked, unkempt alien staring at her, she’s appalled to find she’s resonating with him. He doesn’t speak the Sakui language either! Gradually, she cleans him p and teaches him words and they fall in love. The complications arise when she becomes pregnant and falls ill. He’s been taught by his father not to trust the “bad ones”, the other Sakui on the planet. Can he overcome his fathers teachings to get her the help she needs from the healer? Narration was well performed.

Ruby Dixon’s books are amazing

From the first book to every book that has come out since, I love Rudy’s stories. They are filled with love and humor and her love scenes never fail to arouse me. My husband loves me listening also because of this. I look forward to many more additions to this series. Thank you Ruby!!!

My fave so far!

4.5 stars — This is my favourite one so far!! It just hit all the buttons for me.

Harlow was so mellow and go with the flow. I was surprised by what her secret was, but in retrospect it’s an interesting “problem” for one of the humans to have. And it made her personality and calmness make a strange sort of sense. I loved the way she worked through those first days with Rukh, going from fear to resignation. And I appreciated how she felt for him as she started to figure out what he was all about. For someone so even keeled, she really did go through a lot of emotions in this book — like she was calmer, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t upended by change.

I loved the story of Rukh. I can’t even imagine his life up until Harlow, and it truly made me feel for him. It was hard to watch him cling to his beliefs passed down from his father, but it made the moment when he figured things out very satisfying. He was protective, caring, and strong-willed.

I really loved the way their relationship developed and evolved over time. There were a lot of barriers to get around, and I appreciated the way they connected even without language. It was fascinating to watch and ponder what it would be like. I really felt their love for one another.

So yeah. Still loving this. Still having fun completely avoiding my self-imposed “reading responsibilities.” *shrugs*

Is it just me?

I love this series. I was hoping to listen to the whole series through audible and catch up from where I left off reading many years ago. I listened to the first two, months ago. I had to take a break... I skipped the third book because it was my least favorite. I picked back up with this one and I just don’t think I can continue listening.

I can’t stand Hollie Jackson’s narrating.

It must just be me, because she is everywhere and she narrates this whole freaking series. I’m constantly passing on books when I see she is the narrator, I thought I could just push through, but she really ruins the story for me. Because the things that annoy me about her voice and the way she says things, transfers to the characters, and I end up thinking the book isn’t as good because of it.

Other than that, this is a great addition to the series if we’re only talking about the story.
