About this listen

Emma Gordon escapes from a troubling marriage in which she has completely lost sight of who she is. Desperate for independence, she leaves her husband while on a trip in the Scottish Highlands. The only thing is, she ends up hurled back in time to the 16th-century Castle Gealach.

Laird Logan Grant is tormented by a dark past and harbors a secret that could tear his country apart. Unable to resist Emma's beauty and the calm that she invokes, Logan confesses he desires her.

Despite her own reservations, Emma longs to get close to Logan, even while she is desperate to return to her own era. In the end, she embarks on a daring, passionate affair that rocks her to the very core.

WELL...THAT WAS DIFFERENT

Different...that's all I can say. A mid-evil 50 Shades!! Hmmm...
I did, however, enjoy the dual narration. I would like to hear more of that in audio books.

Very predictable

Any additional comments?

Sadly I found this book very predicable and i didn't like the abrupt ending with not even a little closure. I was also hoping for more time travel involvement... The heroine's husband verbally abused her for years and undermined her confidence in herself. He controlled her life and she was never treated as a loved and respected wife but as a convenience for his needs and dark moods in and out of the bedroom. Looking to escape, she is sent back to the past and is found on the laird's doorstep. They both have secrets and he doesn't know if he should trust her but they can't deny the attraction and sense of rightness they feel with one another...

This wasn't a book i would re-listen to and won't be continuing with the series. Narration was great...

Control in Love

This was a nice listen. Narrators did a excellent job!! Author outstanding!!! You could feel the heat and passion between Emma and Logan! Though I am wondering though if there are some missing parts to the book. I had to turn it down in some parts so no one but me could hear the juicy parts lol!! Overall was a good listen!!

Behind the Plaid is outstanding!

This is a wonderful, well written story and I can't wait to read the next book. Logan and Emma are waiting....here I come!
Oh and the Audible book is so great, Logan is a Scottish Highlander and his Scottish voice is to die for. Emma has and wonderful voice also.

Drum roll please… eye roll

I absolutely loved the Sutherland legacy series and though I’d try more Eliza Knight books. And even tho I’m a huge Antony Ferguson fan, I couldn’t make it past the third chapter of this book. Really! A woman who’s mentally abused clings to the very sensual Laird after seeing a brutal battle… hmm some of these time travel novels just seem too unrealistic and cheesy.
Arils Rapson does a horrible job at male voices and I just got caught up in the eye rolls.
Sorry but this book isn’t for me

HOT but more character development in books 2 & 3?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If the friend really loved to read about hot sex scenes then yes... but, I would definitely not recommend this to readers that are use to "tame" love scenes in some romance novels.

What other book might you compare Behind the Plaid to and why?

I would have to compare it to any of author Brenda Jackson's books. Why not a specific book? There are many "Highland" themes to choose from & I cannot make a definite choice because I think I would have loved this book more if we saw Emma and Logan's relationship build & develop out of the bedroom too.

What does Antony Ferguson and Arika Rapson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

LOVED THE NARRATORS!!!! Excellent scottish brog by Antony Ferguson! BOTH narrators kept me listening- even through the screams, groans, moans, anddddddddd lol you get the picture.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

WARNING: ALL INNOCENT CHILDREN (INCLUDING VIRGINS), HORMONE JUMPIN' HORNY TEENS & ANY ADULT(S) THAT CANNOT SAY THE WORD "SEX" WITHOUT BLUSHING OR WHISPERING IT **W I L L N O T B E A D M I T T E D**

Any additional comments?

This is my 1st review. I felt I needed to warn some of you as I rely on reviews when I am unsure about certain books.I value those reviews & I have seen many that summarize the story and relate the ending. No problem with that here ( the main reason I decided to write this) b/c as I was listening to the book I suddenly hear "this has been an Audio production... WTH? I looked at my IPOD & sure enough it had ended. I looked the book up on another site & that is when I read there are 3 books in the series and we will hear more about Emma & Logan as the series continues. Hopefully, Audible will add books 2 & 3 ASAP!
MY OTHER VALID REASON FOR THIS REVIEW IS THAT IF YOU ARE LIKE ME I LISTEN TO MY AUDIO BOOKS IN THE CAR, WHILE AT WORK ON MY LUNCH HOUR, WHILE WORKING IN MY GARAGE/PATIO/HOUSE... PRETTY MUCH EVERYWHERE B/C I LOVE TO "READ"! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE AUDIO BOOKS THAT YOU SHOULD ONLY BE LISTENING TO W/ HEADPHONES (turned down of course), & NOT CRANKED UP ON YOUR CAR STEREO or YOUR SURROUND SOUND SPEAKERS LOCATED IN THE CEILING AT WORK DURING LUNCH (especially if you are a high school teacher like I am lol). YIKES! :o

Half-Meh

Could not finish. The female narrator could not do a Scottish accent
Plus the female character was pretty bland.
This made the whole book feel very uneven. Half was interesting, the other half frustrating, so I cut my losses. Hoping to save you the few hours.

Like ordering highlander from wish

Main character went from interesting to so annoying you hate her. It’s honestly a knock off of highlander except really not good. At all.
I couldn’t finish it…
