About this listen

After ending her passionless marriage, Cali Reynolds is eager to live out her forbidden fantasies. Her first step is attending new members' night at The Den, the most exclusive sex club in town. Perhaps here she can find a man who understands her desire to be dominated....

At first, Jake McCallister thinks Cali has come to his club for the wrong reasons. But when he discovers she is seeking fulfillment after years of denial, he's intrigued - and takes it upon himself to initiate her into the pleasures she's been missing.

Her first encounter with Jake is everything Cali has always craved, and more; she's not prepared for the feelings he inspires in her. And Jake is just as surprised by his overwhelming attraction to Cali. As their play intensifies, so does their bond. Now, Jake doesn't want anyone but Cali - but is he ready to officially claim her? And will she submit to being his forever?

alright

kind of lacked substance. I had to double time the story. I really liked the second book so thought I would listen to this one before I listened to that one again. the sex scenes are pretty good if you want it just for that, though. it's a decent story. listened through the romance package, but not sure if it would be worth a credit.

Sweet 2nd chance romance story with kink

I recommend this book to fans of the BDSM genre. A bonus is that the heroine is NOT the same 21-year-old virgin that appears in 80% of romances, she is a 40-something mother (yay for variety!)!

Interesting premise. Great cast of characters to take you into the rest of the books in the series.

Lots of passion, pining and several REALLY hot sexy scenes.

I noticed some reviewers complained about the narrator - I thought she was okay.

Good story bad narrator

Would you try another book from Lynda Aicher and/or Emily Cauldwell?

From the author yes, from the narrator no

What didn’t you like about Emily Cauldwell’s performance?

She was stiff,non-emotional,robotic. Her style was distracting from the story.

Do you think Bonds of Trust needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes there should be one for each of the club owners.

Nice BDSM romance

Good to see this real life simulation of an older woman and younger man finding love in the world of BSDM. Kylie and Jake. Good to see a perspective of a l needing more than what he does at work and finally reached for what he missed . And she with what was missing in her f failed marriage .

Introduction to another world

I loved this book. It took me to places and emotions I never could have imagined on my own. If you've ever wondered what the the BDSM world was like, here is your chance to experience a version of it in the safety of your own mind.

Emily Cauldwell is brilliant as the reader. The combination of Lynda Aicher and Cauldwell is not to be missed.

Quite a solid and fun story.

Interesting dimensional characters, flaws to overcome and a sound predictable resolution.

Though I do with the story had gone more into the tribal aspect of collecting and being owned and the politics the club had of that, but otherwise this was a fun little story.

This was an okay read. I definitely think he’s not a great Dom though. How are you going to understand your sub’s inexperience with the D/S lifestyle but as soon as she uses her safe word and gets freaked out you leave and run away?? As a Dom you are supposed to know your sub and preemptively think about their feelings and thoughts, and at the very least you should be able to understand that the use of a safe word means a conversation about what got them to the point of using their word should be had after the scene ends and emotions are steady again.

Even in the BD/SM seen people can fall in love

Would you listen to Bonds of Trust again? Why?

I very well might , because it was a very different view of the BD/SM genre. Most of the time it's always about control, and submission. This time it was about a dominant who started to develop feeling for his submissive, and she for him. (these things do happen)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Actually I really liked Jake, because he was helping Cali realize her desires. Also that Cali was an adult woman not a girl who after 25 years of marriage with an unfulfilled sex life wanted to finally get her rocks off and learn how to do it.

What does Emily Cauldwell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I never heard her before and she did an ok job, I think there could have been better narrators but she did the job quite well.

Any additional comments?

This was very different from most BD/SM stories. They explained more to people who are not familiar with the seen. The biggest thing is "Trust" and the trust is what most do not understand is that the submissive can end the seen at any time. So in essence the Sub has the power.

Very Sexy Love Story

This is a love story. Yes, it is a very erotic work of fiction and a lot of the story is of a very sexual nature, but more than anything else this is the story of two people finding their perfect partner; finding that which they thought they could never have. The sex in this story is very descriptive but in a sensual and sensitive way. This author isn't out to shock her readers, quite the opposite in fact. She shows that love and connections come in various different guises and that finding them depends on finding the right person to share them with.

I really appreciated that the author allowed me to get to know her characters beyond the bed/play-room. While their relationship develops mostly during their "scenes" together, the reader gets real glimpses at who they are and what motivates them through their interactions with the other people around them. This makes both Cali and Jake into fully developed characters whose feelings and actions make sense and who are easy to like and understand.
