Poor sexy gorgeous Jagr the moody, unsociable, reclusive vampire that prefers his books to people is unwillingly sent on a mission by Styx (his King) to bring back Regan a stubborn, genetically altered Werewolf and one of Darcy's missing sisters but she's just escaped 30 years in captivity being tortured so the only thing she's looking for is revenge.

They have great chemistry and the romance isn't rushed as they understand each other as they've both been imprisoned and tortured and Jagr sympathises with Regan as to why she want and must get vengeance. He agrees to help her before he brings her to Styx and Darcy but even the thought of home and family makes her feel trapped and unhappy. There's plenty of action, likeable characters, humor, various villains, an assortment of supernaturals, a funny French Gargoyle, magic, twists, torture, passion and Regan's character grew and developed thanks to the caring, touching support of Jagr who makes the painful sacrifice of walking away from his soul-mate.

No disrespect to the guy on the cover but Jagr is a very handsome, long haired, sexy, drool-worthy vampire - so what happened with the cover picture?

Worth a credit? This is another enjoyable addition to the series but, IMHO, not the best - but definitely creditworthy and I'm sooo looking forward to book 6 Beyond The Darkness which is about the Were King Salvatore.

The storyline continues with Yager & Reagin. Their adventure to finding love with one another is compelling, unique, and dangerous. Highly recommend this series!

Fifth installment of the series and this was a grueling process to make it to the end. The characters are so shallow and lack depth. I understand that these are romance novels but, these are really losing their umph.
