Love this book but love portal fantasy Type stuff more.

Real Review, The book is great as always but the number of women in this series is a little too high and as a result each of their characters suffer a bit.

Why does Evan talk so much when hes in a battle instead of just taking the life of whoever hes fighting without remorse It just seems like a waste of time And I just don't see the point of all the talk in the midst of a battle when he could just kill whoever hes talking with that way they don't get away

First, let me say that the performers, once again, did an excellent job. However, I couldn't help but feel this book was more of a foundation layer than an actual adventure on it's own. I wasn't really disappointed, just didn't get the thrill of excitement as I had in the earlier books.
Given that, I feel this story has laid the foundation for strong future adventures. Laying Lady Naomi is probably integral to the overall plot of the story. As an Emperor, having lovers from the ruling families will solidify his position in the future. I just hope that her character will become more integral in future stories as well.
One part of the overall plot that was revealed, at least to me, is the fear the enemy holds for dragons allying themselves on the King's side. Obviously, they fear that the dragons can defeat the demon hoards. And thus their plans to take over the world. This is a perfect example of laying a foundation for future storylines.
Overall a good job. Keep going, I look forward to the next tittlating adventure
