This is a "to each their own" review. The content was great. The narration was fantastic. The play scenes were awesome. There were some inconsistencies in the interaction between the main characters. I didn't really enjoy the characters in this book. That is just me. Someone else may love then. It won't stop me from listening to the others. I listened to one other and loved it. It's nice to find an author that seems to know about BDSM. I will look for more stories from her in the future.

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were wonderfully presented. She does such a great job, describing the very sexy Banner and insecure Kate, You feel like you really know them. There were a few times where I wanted to say just go talk to him. Why are you whining again? Then thinking about the way I would react in the same situation, I would have been exactly like Kate. The “play”scenes were steamy but very well done. I think I found my new favorite author!!!

The story is very good, the sex is panty wetting great. Kate does get a bit annoying at times with her bratty behavior and constant questioning of everything in the moment. It took a few chapters to get used to the narrator's voice. Made my commute very enjoyable!!

The beginning of this book confused and annoyed me but about 1/2 though it changed (or I just got used to it) and then I enjoyed the book. Here we have a girl who thinks she wants a Dominant & kink so her friends have a party with the intention that she could meet a Dominant. She has no experience in the life style and the minute a Dom tells her what to do (in any way) she gets her panties in a bunch and freaks out saying she isn't a doormat and she can make her own decisions....WHAT??? This confused me a lot! How can she want a Dom if she obviously doesn't understand the concept at all! I understand if she was a little resistant, shy or had a hard time with some hard core stuff but she couldn't even deal with him telling her to wear specific clothes. How can you want a Dom but you can't be submissive....kind of an oxymoron if you ask me!

So that was my what "I didn't like", now what I did like was the idea of a girl curious about the lifestyle and a man who desperately wants her to be a "slave" but doesn't think she has it in her so he wants to help her get what she thinks she wants instead of trying to make her into what he wants her to be. I loved Banner! He was a sexy dominant man who knows what he wants and wants someone who wants it too (without being convinced into wanting it). His relationship with his family and friends was sweet and the way he treated Kate, I thought was great. Once Kate's bratty rebellious side starts to relax a little the story took off for me. The sex scenes were hot, the love story was sweet, the writing was good and the narration was good too! I will be continuing on to book 2. I'm hoping it's about Ambrose!!!

If someone made me a character in a book, I would pretty much be Kate. I related to her so much... I'm a counselor too and obviously I'm interested in the lifestyle if I read these sorts of books so in the beginning I could feel her struggle. This book was excellent, the writing was vivid and caused me to react in ways I didn't think an audiobook could, it was hot!Kate and Banner were both great characters and I can't wait to keep reading. This is one of the first times I've been interested in the side characters and wanted to hear their story... especially Constantine, he's an enigna and interesting to me. The narration was on point (as it always is with Samantha, she's amazing) and the only thing I didn't like was that at times Kate was a bit too bratty for me but even so that's such a small thing it was almost unnoticeable. Loved this book with all my heart.

I am new to BDSM novels, this one is my fourth read. first ever audio book and
I LOVED it! I couldn't put it down. I just downloaded book 2 in this series.

I can't imagine anyone else as narrator Samantha Cook's voice is so soothing 😍 I was excited to see she is also the narrator throughout this series.
once I am finished with these, you can bet I will be looking for more novels narrated by her.
