The danger, the chaos, and the lifestyle of the Hellions world has become far too much for Savannah "Sass" Perchton. Swearing off bikers and attempting a "normal" life, she has settled. She pushes away her old life, her old self. She is trying to fit into a mold, to be everything she never was.
He's a playboy - a different chick in his bed, off on a different ride, and always chasing something new. Frank "Tank" Oleander, Haywood's Hellions road chief, will give anything for his club, including his life.
When the fast pace of the Hellions life finally catches up to him, Tank finds himself at a crossroads. He is forced to face some life-changing thoughts or succumb to the darkness of death. Teetering on the brink of giving in, her voice is all he is holding on to. The coma he can't come out of is full of the memories he can't let go of. She's the light in the darkness.
She has left behind everything she has ever known chasing stability. His life literally hangs in the balance. Can she see beyond the chaos to the man behind the cut? Will they find their forever ride?
Contains mature themes.

The romance with a different guy, Tank, doesn't take the lead until just before the end of the book.
Although an interesting view inside the mind of the woman who is gradually stripped of her personality, I would not recommend this book for anyone looking for a hot romance.
SPOILERS...
Sass starts dating a "safe" guy after having her heart broken by her long-time biker friend in the MC. This safe guy is controlling and manipulative but she can't see it. She just slowly gives up her entire life. By telling her how selfish she is for not completely focusing on him every second ("I'm your priority"), safe guy convinces her to give up everything: her parents, the MC, her best friends, her job, her hairstyle, her clothes, and her home. He even disconnects her phone to isolate her. He belittles her in front of people. He monitors and controls everywhere she goes and everyone she talks to. And it continues to escalate to violence.
Sass doesn't get back together with her biker guy until literally 20 minutes before the end of a 6 1/4 hour book.
Trigger warning: It's bothersome that the "safe" guy rapes her and its glossed over and never really mentioned again.
Overall, I was disappointed with this book because I was expecting more positive interaction between Sass and Tank, but I have to give the author credit for the sequences from Tank's perspective when he's in the coma (very engaging) and the study of abuse was well done.
Study of emotional abuse.

The story wasn’t all that, but I might be jaded by the performance. Oh well it’s finally over and I can move on. Fingers, toes, and even eyes crossed that the next book is better.
That was ruff to listen to

Time passes, situations change and both Sass and Tank are different versions of themselves.... gone is the fun loving sassy redhead and in her place there's a 'Stepford' version of Sass instead. Gone is the womanizing bad boy - now Tank's strictly a one woman man.... and he's patiently waiting for his woman to realize it. But they are both miserable.... until Sass calls her best friend for help.
I'm sorry and sad that this listen didn't work for me - most of the story was filled with Sass losing her identity and becoming a weak puppet who does whatever Nick wants.... I just wanted to shout "wake up woman" and slap her out of it. I know she was mentally running away from all her problems but it didn't make it any easier or enjoyable to listen to. And I didn't like the way she so easily walked away from her life and cut everyone out... including her loving MC Mom and Dad. I didn't feel any chemistry or burning love between Sass and Tank - this may have been due to the emotionally flat, and at times monotone, male narration. At the end things seemed to be wrapped up too quickly and without much fuss or heart-to-hearts and with only one scene having drama when Tank seeks revenge on Nick.
Worth a credit? IMO, sadly NO... I really didn't click with this listen and there was no happy vibe at the end of it for me. However, the ratings say I'm in the minority here... so maybe you'll love it - but I have to tell it as I feel it.
SADLY I JUST DIDN'T CONNECT TO THIS LISTEN

I was disappointed that the heroine was so clueless throughout the book. Even at the end, when she had bruises and a year of verbal abuse, she still played the situation off as no big deal. This didn’t serve the story or the readers well.
Spoiler alert: the pregnancy was completely unnecessary and did nothing to further the story itself.
Disappointed
