What a listen!!!!

Part 2 of Miller and Olivia's story and it was wonderful. I love this author and narrator. It is not just a boy meets girl, fall in love and have sex story, there is darkness involved. This Man and One Night trilogies held my interest throughout, I just love them!

Great!!!!

If you could sum up One Night: Denied in three words, what would they be?

Right on Point

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both of the main characters.

Which character – as performed by Edita Brychta – was your favorite?

Each and every one, I could tell them apart. I look for books where she is the narrator she is that good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Loved every moment.

Any additional comments?

Loved it!!!!

Second Installment full of new revelations...

In this second installment, Jodi Ellen Malpas’s writing continues to be lively, vivid and interesting. Her spectacular writing, along with the narration of Edita Brychta, makes this read/listen jump out and take on a whole other dimension of life.

I loved Livey’s grandmother Nan…OMG the woman is a hoot! I found William and Gracie’s story to be so tragic, but the developments about Miller’s past were heart-wrenching, and the kind of stuff that makes your stomach feel sick. This was a bit of a change for me because I could not shut off the constant comparisons my brain kept making between the leads in this book and that of the “This Man” series.

Miller is a much more vulnerable male lead, due to his past. Livey still can’t get over her love affair with Miller and refuses to let him go, even as the challenges continue to arise from all directions. There were a lot of precious stolen moments between Miller and Livey…some moments that reminded me a little of the movie “Pretty Woman.” Miller has neurotic ways, but given his background it makes sense that he would insist on compulsions that bring order to his life. Livey, is also a weaker female lead than Ava from the “This Man” series. In some respects she stands up for herself in a way that Ava never did, yet on the other hand she comes across as childish with her tantrum-like responses. Livey was also a kind of lost soul before her love for Miller developed. I wish she had some type of purpose in her life that made her a bit more interesting an intelligent that would have helped with her character development throughout the book.

Overall, I’m rooting for this couple! I want to see Miller’s invisible chains disintegrate. I want Miller and Livey to have their much deserved happily ever after, and I want the “immoral bastard” to pay dearly for the evil that was rained down upon Miller’s life. Also, I want some answers to the questions that were brought about from book 1.

Here’s to the final installment and hoping it provides readers with a fabulous ending and HEA for Miller and Livey.

OMG! What a story!

This story has it all...I laughed, I cried, and I was at the edge of my seat several times. It’s a romance, erotica, mystery, and thriller all in one. Everything you hope for in a gripping novel.

Listen to the Songs and Give Me My Thing!

What did you love best about One Night: Denied?

In reading the reviews there's only one topic that hasn't been covered and I've discovered it's a very important part of Jodi's writings.

LISTEN TO THE SONGS!

Every time a song is being played Jodi tells us the title and who is singing. I've realized she does this because at the moment the song is mentioned she is using the song to take us to a deeper emotional state-of-mind of The Special One.

So when a song is mentioned hit pause, look it up and listen. My mp3 app will display the lyrics which is even better. I listened to the scene then played the song. The majority of the time the song gave an emotional intensity to the scene that it otherwise would not have had.

LISTEN TO THE SONGS!

JODI YOU ARE A GENIOUS.

The drama continues!!

Ok--this series is much darker than the This Man series ( and I thought it was fairly dark!). I still am really enjoying the story. There are a lot more questions answered about Miller's sad upbringing. The relationship remains pretty dysfunctional as do all the relationships in the intensely sexual books--ie the Crossfire series , the Stark series, and others I have listened to. However this makes them a fun escape from reality. On to book 3!
