About this listen

Cord Tanner has a very simple plan: get paid to be Beatrix Northroupe's husband for a month so the prim, but sexy, Englishwoman can gain rightful ownership of her family's stud farm. Money in hand, he's going to get as far away from Revolt, Kansas, as a fast horse can take him.

Cord soon finds that he admires his Trixie's reckless courage - not to mention she's one great kisser. Maybe he's crazy to hope for a real future with her instead of heading for the hills, but now that someone's staking a dangerous claim to her farm, Cord's decided to stick around as long as the lady needs protecting. That wedding ring he put on her finger means her reputation is safe - and he's determined to win her heart. Cord Tanner may not be the most refined man on the frontier...."

This is one of the best westerns I've listened to. It is a period piece, which I prefer. I hate modern westerns. It didn't shy away from sex scenes which many westerns do. The characters were not annoying and the story kept me interested. There was an interesting twist of poetic justice. The narrators deep voice was very nice.

Excellent western

So when I started the book last night I was iffy about the narrator. Then as I listened I feel in love with him.
As for the story, it is not my normal type of story to read. I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. I don't know why but I walked away from the story feeling good.
I want to say I knew who did it from the first but there were enough twists in it that I was like a cat with a ball of yarn, I didn't care how we got to the end I had a blast the whole way there. The characters were relatable and I could understand why they were feeling what they felt. I am now looking for another book by this author and or narrator to listen to.

I want more!
