About this listen

Nikki:

I left for Cali the night of my graduation with nothing but a pink boa, a pair of strappy gold heels, and my silver eye shadow from Sally Beauty Supply. I sang for pennies on Hollywood Boulevard in my broke and desperate days. Now at 26, I've got more Grammys than Madonna and a growing empire.

Fame was everything I expected and nothing that I ever wanted. At the end of the day, I'm on my own, with an overbearing manager and security team as my only friends. I made this life, and now I live in it alone.

When a stalker starts following me, and the paparazzi ambush me outside of a nightclub, I'm at my breaking point. That's when Fox Lee appears - out of nowhere - tall and gorgeous with salt-and-pepper hair and a wicked smile.

Fox:

Nikki Rippon is the most fascinating man I've met in years, and I count Robert De Niro as a close friend. I'd like to save Nikki - and savor his cherry pink lips. But I need to keep things cool and professional, even if he's the smartest, funniest, and sexiest man in my contacts list. He's at least a decade too young for me, and he needs legal representation against the hellions taking advantage of him - not a boyfriend.

Contains mature themes.

the order of the books

this book should have been the 1st book of the series after listening to the first 3 it's like reading a book after you read the ending and already know what happens

Started strong, then fizzled

I liked this book a lot in the beginning. By the middle I was bored, and before the end I was eager for it to hurry up and be finished.

Before it was over, I was not enjoying the narration either. Too campy for this story.
Disappointing, because it started with such promise.
Then a one sentence cliff hanger/tease at the end? Come on. Really?

Loved the story, but narration not so much

This might be my favorite of all the Abingdon books. I absolutely loved Fox and Nikki. There was suspense nearly all the way through, and I always prefer the conflict/angst to come from the outside, rather than being caused by the relationship. I had a hard time putting the book down. I highly recommend it.

The one drawback was the narration. Sometimes Fox had the super hot low voice, and sometimes Nikki did. Nikki’s especially was off, especially toward the end. Sometimes he sounded like Gil from Steele My Heart, sometimes he sounded like the preteen boy and girl from A Fighting Chance, and sometimes he sounded like a woman. Nikki’s mother sometimes had a serious southern accent, and sometimes hardly any at all. The changes in Nikki were sometimes confusing, and got a bit annoying toward the end. But the story was so awesome, I don’t even take any stars off the Overall rating. It’s that good.

This should be read as book 1 not book 4

I love this series 😄 I don't love Tor Thom but I do really like Alexander as narrator. In my opinion he should have been the solo narrator for the whole series

My biggest issue with this book is it should be book #1 in the series Everything starts with Nikki's return to town This book even ends with Gill's big return and the case that makes up his & Kendall's book. Each story is great👍 and very well written They are all mostly low angst but there are a few instances where the author tries to drag out the drama a bit too much for my liking but that's just my opinion.

This series is something I would definitely recommend especially since all but this book is free to listen to. 😁

Love has no age limits!!!

Excellent storyline and characters. I love the idea that love has no age limit and that anyone can fall in love with anyone they want! Both narrators did a great job! I am a huge fan of Tor Thom but Alexander Cendese definitely held his own.

Tor puts the FLAME in flaming!

Good story. Love these narrators together. Tor's Nikki is FAB-U-LOUS! Spot on. Bravo! Well done, sir.

Liked story but not voice of Nikki

Nikki is a free spirit and very confident. He is an out and proud gay superstar. Fox is an older, mild mannered entertainment lawyer. They are opposites that attract. Nikki is in trouble and is surrounded by dangerous people. He needs help and Fox is there to help him. Fox steps in and guides Nikki and they discover an attraction for each other. The trouble gets resolved and they fall in love. I don’t like the way the narrator for Nikki portrayed him.
