About this listen

This is a new adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.

She didn't know what she was missing...until he found her.

Maxwell Knight was dangerously good looking, seductively charming, and definitely trouble. He was everything Jeanella Mefferd did not need now.

Fresh out of college, life was predictable and comfortable for Jeanella. She had the strength of her friends and the security of her job, and she was dating a reliable man; it was all smooth sailing. That was until one night, when she met someone who made her feel things she'd never felt before--dangerous, heart pounding, breathless heat. Never imagining she would see him again, Jeanella has no idea what to do when fate steps in and thrusts Maxwell Knight into her life just as things were beginning to change around her. When she lands her dream job and travels to New York for Fashion Week, can she focus on her career instead of on Maxwell?

Will she ignore all the danger signs and jump straight into his arms, or will she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

Narrator's voice is bad

The narrator's voice sounded bored. The male voice was no different than her female voice.

Lacking

Altho story is not an original one, it is a good one but the writing needed some help, maybe some editing. Sometimes it seemed like trying to fit in too many cliches in one paragraph. The reader rushed the story, too monotone, almost like she was just mumbling an article to herself. Not enough inflection or emotion...she needs coaching and practice. It made it hard to get into the book, therefore a little hard to finish.

Good story

It was a good story, but the narrator was not the best. In addition, there were placed in the audio that were not cut correctly. All in all, I am hoping that the narrator will have more experience for the second book.

Almost couldn't finish...snooze fest narration.

Bad narration. No emotion. Sounded like she was reading a recipe card. Story could've been a lot better but hard to tell because of the awful narration .

It was hard listening to the narrator

The narration was very off putting and I expected more from a longer series like this. There was absolutely no emotion or changes between the male and female characters. It was basically 1 tone the whole time.

Ok, but not outstanding

The story was pretty much like every other romance book, but not as well written as I would have hoped. It felt like the author was lecturing on the ways of life instead of showing us what life was like. Sometimes a really skilled narrator can save stories like this through their performance, but this narrator didn't have the skill. All in in all this was an average book.

Terrible narrative!

I struggled with this book. At first the writing bothered me, but as I continued to listen, I realized that it was not so much the story, it was the awful narrative. The narrator's tone is flat and there is no difference between one character and another.

I did find the heroine very immature. I do realize 23 is young, but her character acted more as a teenager acts with her first boyfriend.

I do not plan to read or listen to the next books in the series. I'm glad this did not end with a cliff hanger, but with an HFN.
