About this listen

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every horny creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants....

Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl's got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy - one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie's first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.

Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne'er-do-well, and the ones who don't want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. but with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her....

One of my favorite series from Rachel.

I am a huge fantasy, supernatural, wiccan related fan. This series is one of the best I've read first and listened to on audiobook. Rachel keeps you wanting to keep moving forward to see what happens next. It would be nice if she came out with a runoff the series or continue forward. Great Read and Listen.

Love the story line

Love the story line… hate the voice narrator. Makes it hard to keep focus when it just doesn’t not match at all.

Not what I expected

What I didn’t like was the voice actor, she sounds much older than the main character, and since it’s a first person story it just doesn’t vibe for me. I enjoyed the story, I didn’t have the complaints that other people did.

Not the right narrator

I love Richelle Mead and very much enjoy this series. But the narrator sounds way too old for the main character. Terrible.

Not sure about this one.

The narrator did a good job, the story… I like some parts and dislike others. Main character is supposed to be powerful, but why does she keep getting caught. I hate stories where people are in love after a month… I don’t like the love interest in this book at all. Hoping the next book grows and is better. Love Dorian though. I also hate writing reviews, so I get to the point and I’m done.

Good Story, Mismatched Narrator

A more sexual one out of Mead's series. Interesting worlds and creatures. Engaging. But the narrator's voice is far too mature for the protagonist. Not bad, per se, but a serious mismatch: a 45-55 voice for a 20-30 character. Very distracting.

Not my favorite

I usually love Rochelle Meade but this book was just a miss. The reader just has the wrong voice and the books just not that good and the reader it’s just the wrong person it doesn’t go well. I do, however recommend most of Rochelle Meades other books.
