A brokenhearted daddy. A boy running from himself. Together, they form an unexpected bond.
Seth was a good Christian son raised in a very conservative church.
He learned early on that the world is evil and filled with sinners - but the most horrible thing you can be is gay. When his shame is discovered, he’s shipped off to a special camp that fixes deviants like him. Years have passed since then, yet he still runs from himself every day.
Malcolm was a good daddy for almost 10 years before his boy died.
No longer daring to be too close with another man again, he’s avoided clubs and old friends that remind him of a life filled with a joy he can no longer have. Unable to find a purpose in his lonely existence, he spends night after night in a dive bar at the edge of town. However, witnessing a scared young man being harassed by two bullies jolts him out of his misery.
No one messes with someone vulnerable and helpless on his watch.

I absolutely love an Author that hooks the reader with a great story, with depth, with interesting characters, the book gets more interesting as you go through each chapter, and most importantly the sex is NOT the story but an enjoyable piece of the story
This book is all of this.
Much of it was heartbreaking but both characters fulfilled a need in each other and provided hope to each other that wasn’t there before meeting each other
Surprisingly the BDSM aspect was a very minor role in this book which for me was a good thing
I loved reading of this couple and loved their journey to HEA
The Narration was spot on as Nick delivers as always with excellence, he is one of my fav go to Narrators and that is another key aspect of a great audio read as even a well written book is a NO for me if the narrator is not strong in bringing that story to life
This was a great read with a great narrator and definitely a credit well used!
Unexpected Wonderful Story !!

It was a fun listen. I absolutely loved the Malcolm (Daddy) character. The narration performance was excellent at character voices with a natural melodic timber.
Heavy on the romance

I will absolutely get more books by this author and look into more M/M books with this narrator too.
The writing was well developed. The storylines made sense. The characters were great.
The ONLY negative thing I have to say is the over use of the word Daddy. Yes, the whole point of these wonderful books is the relationship between Daddy and Boy. And as much as I love Nick Russo as the narrator, I'm not sure if it was the tone of the voice he used for Seth, or the author's inclusion of the word Daddy so often, but for my ears it resulted in Seth sounding extremely juvenile. There for a while at the beginning of the first book I was convinced age play was going to come into it and Seth was going to find out he was a little. I understand their thing was a 24/7 Daddy/ Boy relationship, and that's the first time I've read one of those. And it makes sense given Seth's growing up, that he would need a 24/7 relationship like that. It didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying the book, it just would've been better for me if the narration (not dialogue) had less of Seth referencing "Daddy" and more of him referencing "Malcom", "him" or a pet name. Malcom uses "sweetheart", not just "boy" or "Seth." It also would've made more sense when Seth is trying to train himself to use the word Malcom in public, if we knew he occasionally would think it if not say it before the end of the last book.
OK, one other thing - not necessarily negative - but I was starting to think Seth was agoraphobia or something since he never really worked on that with his therapist, and it was brought up at least 1-2x/ book that he didn't like crowds or being in a room alone (even their bedroom).
Other than these 2 small things, I really enjoyed these books. This is the second book I've read by this author and it just reverified for me what a talent she is. I believe I've listen to 3 or 4 books narrated by Nick Russo. Honestly, I don't know if I'd have enjoyed this trilogy nearly as much if it had been almost any other narrator.
All three are with the same 2 MC ❤️
