About this listen

Phoenix - I never intended to become a stripper.

Two years ago, I was in Nashville chasing the songwriter dream. Sleepless nights between day jobs were spent writing rock ballads and trying to make a name for myself.

That all changed with one phone call that forced me to return to Atlanta. Needing consistent income to pay the mountain of debt I'd come home to, I traded stripping my soul for stripping my clothes.

Then Archer West comes crashing into my VIP room, tempting me to break all of my rules.

I want him - bad.

What I don't count on is finding him living right next door for the summer. Inexperienced and with a creative drive that rivals my own, he stirs the lyrics in me once again. Now I crave more than his body. Archer West has quickly become my unexpected muse.

Contains mature themes.

I loved the narrator, he brought depth to story. The story is sweet and loving. Both characters are nice. There aren’t any downsides to the story. Never had a time when they weren’t a loving couple.

Very sweet

This is a pretty quick, easy, cute, and simple read. Both MCs are likable, and the story and relationship aren't super high in angst. This isn't heavy in plot but is very character driven. There is also a little sprinkling of spice. All in all, it was enjoyable. Maybe not an all-time favorite, but I definitely don't feel like I wasted time. I will say, I do want to see a story with a stripper MC where their profession isn't a source of insecurity for the relationship. Plenty of strippers have healthy relationships, so it would be nice to see that, but that's more a me thing, I think.

An easy and enjoyable read

Stripped Love is one of my favorite books of all time. I know you read that on other reviews; however, I average 400+ books a year, and this book has been read 6 times since it dropped. I love it even more with Iggy Toma reading it and have enjoyed the audio book 5 times. I honestly keep coming back. It is a heart-warming and hot MM romance that has you liveing vicariously through Nix and Archer.

Iggy Toma's performance has you falling in love with Nix and Archer, the moment Archer lays eyes on Nix in the Srip club.

It is truly a must-read and listen in LGBTQ+, and I can't wait to see where Baylin Crow takes us next on this journey.

Beautifully done and amazing!

I think I fell in love with Phoenix the moment he saw Arch. Every time he spoke, I giggled like a little girl. He was a perfect partner and Arch deserved him so much. Phoenix deserves Arch too. I wish I could get more of them. All the characters except.l a couple were all so likable too! I wish we were friends. Oh and it was HOT 🌶️. Gift was awesome as usual.

Phoenix & Archer

I loved that Phoenix feel first! I don’t know why that surprised me, but it did. I know that Archer’s friends thought they were playing with him, but it turned out to be exactly what he needed.

I liked that it was low on the angst, it was more on the sweet and dirty side of things, and I was so here for it.
I devoured this series in a day and a half. I want more!

Iggy was pure perfection.

Loved. Different story, the stripper angle was great. Loved the climax. I was on the edge of my seat. My stomach was nervous for what Archer would see. Loved the narration. A must read.

Iggy Toma was remarkable, for one. He is a gifted voice actor, especially in this— one of the guys has a very noir-style inner voice at times, introvert, dry witted, just not “usual,” he has analytical, deer-in-the-headlights reactions and Iggy made all that work. That’s just one of the characters.

I don’t get the reviews that call this book cute. It’s more than that. Lots of thought about art, music, writing graphic novels and that kind of chemistry that does exist outside of romance novels, but doesn’t always end up with a good ending. In this book it did.

There’s a whole lot of description of environments, and if the artist/writer is in analytic mode might feel slow to some but I found it interesting.

It’s cool to hear passionate thoughts in that wry/dry/inexperienced/intelligent inner voice as one Main Character looks at the world and people. Oh, right, and there’s the other outrageously hot guy whose charms are NOT just skin deep.

There are sexy scenes. There is angst / analysis and blunt honesty. There are some topics which might be triggering, such as a sex worker having relationship trouble and even apologizing for having an ex, which was a bad kind of weird, TBH.

At times even I wanted some of these guys to get out of their heads or stop telling us so many useless details (they’d turned to close and lock the door, or how many times a retail phone rang, or the kind of chair is in a room) — but er, it was relatable.

Outrageously emotional passionate bi swaggering sensitive lyrical caveman stripper is extremely enjoyable (understatement), and of course there’s a compelling voice for him that was so differently voiced that it was easy to forget it was all still Iggy reading.

For all the obligatory disturbances in this kind of this kind of thing, there was enough detail that I wanted to hear more about a sinister hacker brother who knows the best friend twins, workplace sexual harassment, and the incidental bad guys getting equally detailed appropriate justice, but that probably won’t bother most readers— because the love interests are wrapped up in each other when something isn’t going wrong or really right, or dealing with creativity.

It’s sexy, detached, intense, lonely, sappy in a good way It’s odd, passionate and quirky. That’s probably not everyone’s take-away. What I’m writing here is that it’s GOOD. Not just cute.

Wow. Very Different and Good.
