About this listen

In the weeks following Aidan's betrayal, Emma has tried her best to move on. Ignoring his countless texts, voice mails, and flowers, she isn't sure she wants to be won back by him. But Aidan isn't going down without a fight - especially not until Emma lets him reveal the secret of his past that caused him to be so commitment phobic.

But fate intervenes when premature labor forces Emma on strict bed rest for two weeks. Aidan steps forward with a shocking proposal. To prove his love and commitment for her and their unborn son, he will take a leave of absence from work to care for her around the clock. Vowing to guard her heart, Emma reluctantly agrees. While she is touched by Aidan's attentiveness and tender loving care, Emma is thrown for a loop by the amorous attentions of ER doctor, Alpesh "Pesh" Nadeen. Pesh is everything Emma could ever want - successful, stable, and ready to settle down and be a husband and father. Pesh wants nothing more than to win Emma's heart, but she is not sure she's able to give it.

A little vanilla

I enjoyed the conclusion of this story, but it got a little too happy ending a little too soon. I do love a happy ending, though! Also, even though this book is set in Georgia, I appreciate that the reader didn't overkill on the southern accent.

Good Story Painful Narrator

The lady reading made it sound like every guy in the book was an old ancient man with a shaky voice. Didn't do well when picturing the characters in my head and honestly probably ruined it for me BUT I was thinking objectively would I like this as a movie and I would. It has a good story, simple, predictable, but cute and something you want to keep listening to.

Good Story

Good story. I really enjoyed the main characters Em and Aidan.
I do feel the narrator would be best suited for a self-help book instead of romance novels.

Dear author...

Any additional comments?

Dear Author,
Let me introduce you to a thesaurus, see its a book the has many options for expressing words. Synonyms for "giggle" would be titter, laugh, chuckle...
Sincerely,
Concerned Reader

Other than my upset that the author wrote about a 30 year old woman who can only express joy by giggling. This was a good story.

didn't care for the narrator.

i loved this book when i read it on my kindle, but the audio was just not the greatest. the voices for some of the females were far too shrill for my liking, bordering on obnoxious or valley-girl and the voice for aiden--well, i just didn't like it at all.

the problem might be that when i read the book, their voices were already in my head in a certain way. you know how that is, and then when i listened to it, well, it was just flat. didn't like it at all. so maybe it's my fault. i don't know. either way, i loved the book, but not the narrator.

At least it’s finished

I loved the first book in this series. I just couldn’t wait until this one came out. It just wasn’t what I was expecting. I was hoping for more drama. I thought Aidan and Emma would go through more “stuff” but it was more like a lukewarm bath. I just needed MORE. Well we can’t have it all. I just wish I’d saved my credit for something more exciting. There’s not much in this one to get excited about and it could be done by adding a few chapters to the end of the first book instead of having another book. Oh well.

So, in my opinion I’d save my credit for a better book.

Mixed Bag of Emotions

While I enjoyed the Proposition (except when it ended abruptly), I thought the plot lost focus in the 2nd book. Since Emma met Aidan when he agreed to be a sperm donor for her, their transition from co-workers to loving couple seemed too rushed to me.

Yes, they started having strong feelings while engaging in frequent sex, but expecting to build a strong relationship while she's pregnant and he has commitment issues seemed unrealistic.

When Emma is attracted (even a little) to another man while 6 months pregnant, I laughed out loud. Only in fiction does a woman who can't see her feet want sex with a stranger.

Emma & Aidan's family & friends, especially Beau the dog, added humor and warm to the story. The ending was predictable but heartwarming. Mildly entertaining but not memorable.

Mediocre at best

Well I was hoping that the book would pick up with a bit more drama but it fell a little flat. I still love the narrator but the book lack drama. I did not get the chemistry between Emma and Dr. Alpesh "Pesh" Nadeen. It is really unbelievable that a doctor would date a) patient and b) a very pregnant one at that. It kind of ruined the book for me. I like that Aidan did not automatically become flowers and sunshine kind of guy but the story needed more drama. I feel like the book had potential to get better but fell flat for me. The author tried to put some drama with the grandparents and family friends, but it felt out of place. I would have liked to save my credit. Oh well some are hits and others are a miss.

Predictable

I enjoyed the Proposition so ordered this one. I found it to be poorly written, predictable and lacking tension.
Even the sex scenes were rather ho-hum.
