About this listen

Adam Wright may be a self-made billionaire, but he's also a beast.

Most children grow up hating a storybook villain. Based on the injuries that man inflicted on my brother, I grew up hating a real one. When he sort of kidnaps me and drags me back to his fairytale mansion, it feels like yet another cliché antihero stunt.

Here's the thing, though. Most villains don't weep real tears when they see you having a diabetic episode. They don't abandon their billion-pound empire so they can roll up their sleeves and pull your company back from the brink of bankruptcy. They don't put you first, care for you, at every single opportunity, dammit. Not in the storybooks I've read, anyway.

My body succumbs first. It doesn't stand a chance. It's game over from the moment I wake to find him sleeping next to me, the Empire State Building tenting his pants.

I despise myself. I shouldn't want him. Not when I know the despicable acts he's capable of. But when my heart starts to succumb, that's when I know I'm really in trouble. Because what if the villain I've loved to hate all these years is really my hero? And if indeed he is, how on earth will I persuade my brother of that?

Unbind is an age gap, enemies-to-lovers, billionaire romance that can be enjoyed on its own or as part of the Alchemy series. It has no third-act breakup, a big HEA, and a whole host of other tropes, too: sex club, reformed felon, forbidden love, "we shouldn't be doing this," Beauty and the Beast vibes, brother's worst enemy, caregiving, twitchy palm, redemption arc, and a festive finish.

Loved reading this book the first time, and enjoyed it just as much if not more real listening on audio. Kylie and Will always bring the alchemy characters to life, and the steamy scenes as well as the romantic moments are top notch!

Another steamy installment of Alchemy 💗

I don’t even know where to start with this book, I loved it so much! Unbind has the ultimate comfort/care trope and I couldn’t get enough. I thought I was supposed to dislike Adam, but his care for Natalie from the very beginning made me love him so much! Not only are Adam and Natalie a beautiful couple, but they are individually powerful and worthy of true love. This book has a lot of intricate knots that need to be unraveled, and Elodie Hart made beautiful work of that task. Although this is part of a series, Unbind can absolutely be read as a standalone.
Will Watt performs his role as Adam Wright with deep emotion and fiery passion! He's excellent!

So Much to Love!

Another Elodie Hart winner! I absolutely adore Adam Wright. He is supposed to be the villain in this story but you cannot help but feel for his tortured sole.
The set of circumstances that connect Adam and Natalie are horrific but despite this I could not help finding empathy for everyone involved.
The chemistry between Adam and Nat is off the charts providing some pretty steamy listening. Speaking of listening…the narrators are top tier and bring this story to another level.
I read this book when it first came out because I am a huge fan of Elodie Hart and if she writes something, I am reading it. Will M. Watt and Kylie Stewart brought this story to life in a manner my mind could never conjure. It was brilliant!!!

Fantastic!!!

I’ve read the whole Alchemy series, and recently have been going through the audio versions of these books, ending with Unbind. First, I have to say this is an amazing series and the audio versions are next level! Give me Kylie Stewart and especially Will M Watt as a narrator any day and I’m a happy old lady.
Unbind features Adam and Natalie in an enemies to lovers story. As a teen, Adam did something horrific to Natalie’s brother. He has been secretly atoning for what he did, while creating a business and life of wealth. Natalie has a business she is trying to build and has a second job, working at Alchemy as a way to supplement her income and help support her business venture. Adam is looking to invest in the Alchemy joint venture, and when he walks in with one of the Alchemy owners and her husband, Natalie recognizes Adam and becomes upset. He has no idea who she is but thinks she is beautiful. Gen, the owner, sends her home when she learns that Adam is the person that hurt Natalie’s brother. Gen sets up a meeting to give Natalie the opportunity to give her input into Adam taking over Alchemy’s joint venture. She is a Type 1 diabetic and she is so anxious she doesn’t eat before the meeting and has a hypo episode. Adam recognizes what is happening and does everything to get her sugar levels back.
There is so much to this enemies-to-lovers book, but the angst and romance are off the charts. The whole series is great and this audio book is one of the best!
Elodie Hart does her research into all aspects of her books and this one is no different. She totally understands Natalie’s disease, and all aspects of this book, which makes her such a credible author.

Beautiful Story of Forgiveness & Redemption

I loved all the previous books in this series but couldn’t get past the premise.
A ‘former’ bully had his friends immobilize a nerdy boy, pulverized him to the point of permanent lifelong disability, and was then imprisoned for inflicting Egregious Bodily Harm.
The ‘reformed’ bully resurfaces years later as a billionaire whose specific sexual turn-on and preferred method of emotional numbing is spanking women. Specifically, when he spanks their mutinous nature out of them. I feel like that was the wrong proclivity for this MMC. He gets a crush on the beaten nerd’s sister, even though she’s made it clear she’s sickened by him. A third of the way in I had to put it down.

Disturbing Storyline

I have enjoyed all of the Alchemy books so far, but found this one disappointing. The storyline was just boring.

Not my favorite

I'm not sure if it was the characters or what but I loved all the previous books in this series but this one fell flat for me I just could not get into it. Maybe it was the backstory for these two or I don't know the chemistry something was just off.
