The Decameron is one of the greatest literary works of the Middle Ages. Das Dekameron oder Il Decamerone ist eine Sammlung von 100 Novellen, die der Feder von Giovanni Boccaccio entstammen. Die Abfassung erfolgte aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach zwischen 1349 und 1353. Der Titel Decamerone bedeutet - in Anlehnung an das Griechische - "Zehn-Tage-Werk". Es handelt sich um ein stilbildendes Werk, das zum Vorbild fast aller weiteren abendländischen Novellensammlungen geworden ist...

"Griselda" de Giovanni Boccaccio es una novela que aparece en su colección de cuentos conocida como el "Decameron". El cuento narra la historia de Griselda, una humilde y virtuosa campesina, que se casa con Gualtieri, el marqués de Saluzzo. A pesar de la inquebrantable lealtad y devoción de Griselda, Gualtieri la somete a numerosas pruebas y humillaciones para poner a prueba su fidelidad. Griselda soporta estas pruebas con notable paciencia y fortaleza, demostrando finalmente su firmeza y recuperando la admiración de Gualtieri.

Ciappelletto es una de las novelas cortas de El Decamerón de Giovanni Boccaccio. Cuenta la historia de Ciappelletto, un hombre engañoso e inmoral. En su lecho de muerte, convence a un fraile para que le dé un relato falso de su virtuosa vida. Esta narrativa explora el tema de la hipocresía y la corrupción dentro del clero. La naturaleza engañosa de Ciappelletto desafía las nociones tradicionales de piedad, y Boccaccio utiliza la sátira para criticar las normas sociales. El cuento es un comentario sobre las ambigüedades morales y éticas de la época.
