Story
For 18 years I've suffered at the hands of the Hunters. They've done their best to break me, to tear me open and unleash the terrifying monster that lives within. Until the day they go too far. When a desperate escape leads to another brush with death, I'm forced to place my trust in the hands of four formidable strangers. Wild and untamed, their feral natures call to me, their warrior hearts make mine come alive. And when they offer me a place to stay while I heal, I can't say no. But the secrets I carry are deadly, and my past is a twisted, evil nightmare better left forgotten.

Story
Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack...and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

Minor annoyance is that narrator pronounces "marrok" differently than in the Mercy Thompson series. Aside from that excellent narration & story. Enjoyed further development of the Moor character.

When they met at an airport, it was love at first sight. But in time, everything collapsed. As an unnamed but unforgettable woman muses on her life—from meet cute to marriage and parenthood—her recollections inexorably build to a devastating truth. In this shattering performance, Carey Mulligan, star of the critically lauded drama An Education, captivates audiences with playwright Dennis Kelly’s harrowing ruminations on family, ambition, gender, and violence.

Story
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Awful narration
Reviewed: 10-21-21
I am an avid listener. It is a credit to the author's storytelling ability that I got through ~20 hours of this narrator, but just barely. I won't do it again, no matter how good the story. There were a few annoying mispronunciations, for example, horses whinny, they don't whine, That I can handle. But the flat voice, no: It is storming outside. [period pause] She said excitedly. I can't take it anymore. I'd relisten to just about any book in my library, but the two I got with this narrator I'll seek to return,

I enjoyed this story and narrator. I listen most of the day while working about my small farm and crank through books quickly. Using my credits for 10 hr listens is tough, and I hope audible will merge some of these books into collections. Otherwise I won't likely get through the rest of the series unless my library picks them up.

Loved the story and characters. Narrator was flat, with little inflection. Sounded like a first reading. I'll still finish the series at some point. Do wish collections by this author were longer, as I listen most of the day doing chores and I finished all too quickly.

Swampy

Given the book graphic and description, I thought this would be a light kid's tale. Way too swampy for me, bordering on porn, and the story wasn't enough to keep me engaged. I made it through 2/3 and just couldn't finish it.

Story
Many horse trainers, even those who espouse the so-called natural horsemanship approach, take the position that horses who fail to obey a human's request are doing so as much out of perversity as ignorance. That's not Mark Rashid's view. In his words, "If we understand that horses can't separate the way they feel from the way they act, then we can start to see that unwanted behavior isn't bad behavior at all. More times than not, it's just the horse expressing the way he feels at that particular moment in time....
